Ghostpaw runner

Unread post by Ryna »

Sorry if this is old news, but ghostpaws have a tantalizing frenzy effect, but it doesn't stay if you tame them while they're under it.

This was found back near the beginning of the Beta I think, but it was a long time ago so I don't blame you for not seeing it. ^^

Still, good to see an update, shame there's still no way to retain that ghost form after taming though.

That "ghostly" look is the ONE thing that would make me ever tame a wolf.
I'm a HUGE wolf fan, generally... it's pretty much my "spirit beast" in real life.
But I just find the wolves in WoW unattractive.
They just don't speak to me.

A bit of palindromic wisdom:

Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

Have people tried taming them like Garwal? Meaning forcing them to "go ghost" exactly as the tame ends? If Gezz and the Hive Queen are now tameable again I'm still holding out hope.

As far as I know, no, nobody tried that. I had read the other post, and iirc the OP said she'd leave it to someone else to try, but I didn't see anyone get around to it. I'd do it, but a. we have no r1 spells anymore and b. I'm not in beta. :(

Would suggest trying it like we do with the oil stained wolves.

Well, never hurts to keep trying then. :) Someone may very well find a 'trick' that works. ^^

I bet Blizzard crossed every t and dotted every i before even putting that effect in there. I have a feeling they had us more "curious" hunters in mind when they added a Ghost wolf look in the game. That's still a major sore spot amongst hunters over that @_@

Though I do wish they'd become tameable again; Odin is lonely being the only ghost wolf left on the realm =(

I really wish the ghost wolf was tamable again even if it was just for a short time. I would be apart of the race to get one since I missed out on them so long ago.

I would want one too... Come on Blizz, I was only like lvl 30-40-ish when they were tameable the first time :(

I'm holding out hope that the spirit wolves in Stonetalon Mountains will be flagged as tameable eventually. Unfortunately, they don't have a diet so it doesn't look like they will be, but at least they are beasts and they are Beast Lore...able(?), so the possibility is there, though small.

I'd definitely be taming one if I could have that effect... even if it was a frenzy effect it kept after taming, so that it was mostly a regular wolf until in combat.

I just don't understand why certain things were labeled "beast" were tamable and then Blizz just goes "Oh well we don't want you having that" and changes it. So why change it and still leave as a beast with beast lore? If it's not a beast then label it as such.
Come on Blizz make up your damn mind. Half of the some of the blighthounds are beasts, the majority are demons. Either make them all beasts or all demons.
Why have the same models with different skins classified as different NPC's?

/end minor rant

But yeah. Would love to have a spirit wolf.
