"Stormcrow" Skin
There are a few of the "Stormcrow" birds running... er... flying around WoW,
I've tamed the Daggercap hawk [ http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mo ... phawk.html ] on a lower level,
and then tamed the Dire Raven [ http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/mobs/mob_direraven.html ] on my main.
When I tamed the Dire raven, I noticed that it acts differently than the Daggercap hawk.
It moves and flaps it's wings like when you tame an owl, also it flies high like an owl pet does. The Daggercap hawk, however, kind of hovers over the ground and doesn't move as much. (Sort of how it looks when a druid NE in flight form flies)
Also, when I logged out to see if they looked any different to do a comparison, The Dire Raven looks darker, in the 'preview' right before you log in, than the Daggercap.
I thought it was kind of neat, so I figured I'd post it here.
I should've probably taken a screen shot of it, but I went to tame a daggercap because after so long of the Dire Raven moving insanely fast like an owl it got kind of annoying.
Anywho!

Yup, it's a known issue that Daggercap Hawks have animation glitches. They perform normally when they're underwater for some reason.

That's odd! I didn't notice before, haha.

Aye, they fly while swimming.
It's ugly.

Re: "Stormcrow" Skin
That's pretty interesting
I want to see these differences myself... althouhg it will take some time...
Re: "Stormcrow" Skin
There are two stormcrow models.
Stormcrows has been in the game since pre-BC. This first model, called simply Stormcrow, has the animations of owls and carrion birds. The Dire Ravens use this model.
When wrath came out all the new stormcrows had an updated model called Stormcrowdruid. As the name suggests, this is the non-epic druid flight form. All the newer stormcrows (Daggercap Hawk, Fjord Crow, and all the brown bird of prey stromcrows) have the animations of the druid flight form. Blizzard did not change the Dire Ravens to match.

A rare visitor to this forum now that I don't play WoW anymore, but forever a Petopian.
