New monitor lol please help

Unread post by Bulletdance »

Hi everyone. I got a new monitor since my old one broke, but I have a bit of a problem I'm not sure how to fix. Its different size then my last and the instructions say set it to 1920 x 1080 resolution. I did,but not everything like my icons an text are reallllly tiny. Anyone know how to fix this? lol I'd greatly appreciate any advice at all.

Lower the resolution. 1920x1050 is a widescreen resolution, so just pick another widescreen resolution. :P

There is an option in windows control panel, I believe in the desktop settings to change the scale of the icons and text.

In windows:

Display settings, set the resolution to the advised one (don't use another resolution unless you have a specific reason - assuming it's a modern flatscreen monitor it will look better and sharper at native resolution because anything else will have some blurring).

then again in display settings, you can change font and icon size.
I don't know which version of windows you use, but in Windows 7:

Display - Screen resolution - "make text and other items larger or smaller" and try the options there

In WoW - set UI scale slider in the interface options until action bars etc are the size you want, then for chat windows, hover over the tab, right click and choose "font size" and set it how you like it.
