Tameable when...?

I doubt it. Uhm, well, what I mean to say is, Tuesday's patch will only have class changes. Any zone changes, the new starting zones, all that? It's coming with 4.0.3, which will launch (I'm guessing) early November - right between 4.0.1 and the launch.

From the patch info page:

Shortly before Cataclysm launches, Azeroth as you know it will be changed forever. Patch 4.0.3 will bring with it cataclysmic changes to the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Players will be able to find new and exciting sights to see and quests to do in the level 1-60 zones, all-new troll and gnome introductory experiences, redesigned capital cities, new race/class combinations, and more!

So yes, I think Lovcat and Kalli are spot on; when it comes to new families and currently untameable mobs, my money's on 4.0.3.

Just confirmed this; Gezzerak is NOT tameable on the current PTR (and she almost kicked my ass.)
Guess we'll have to wait till later for her, at least.

This, this, this. We've been saying this based on fact!

The beast flagging changes on existing mobs, even Gezz, are likely to come in then. Even though Gezz is in Outland, it's easier for Blizzard to just throw a single switch on ALL the pets that are getting flagged at once.

The PTR is only for the talent changes and stable slots for hunters. That's it from what I've seen. None of the land changes or anything has happened in the PTR. Just the talents and stable adds.

So no, Gezz wouldn't be tamable and neither would the hellboars or anything the like.

That's about a month and a bit away...I'm more of a "Now" guy. So I'm more concerned with 4.0.1

Me too.. but we won't be seeing any new tamables in 4.0.1, so.. patience is a virtue.

4.0.1 brings the bigger stables (save the last active stable slot, which we'll learn after level 80), the new talent trees (including the tweaks to pet talent trees), and the new pet family skills.

4.0.3 will bring the world changes, including the new troll and gnome starting zones, and my guess is that's when we'll see the newly tameable beasts that are not in Cata-only zones; beetles, Gezzarak, brain bugs, etc. Now, whether we'll see foxes and dogs in that patch (we won't see shale spiders, since they're only in Cata-only zones) is unclear. My guess is that we will, but it's a guess until 4.0.3 is on the PTR.

I checked on the PTR; as of right now, Call Stabled Pet 5 is learned at level 82.
