Re: Loque worth the long fight?
I can understand, for the other person. Loque is a tricky beast because he's needed for the achiev. The DK needed it :/ So I don't think he was a douche. If it had been a non-achiev SB (Skoll, Gondria, Arccy) it would be douchy, but...

He's a douche cause he knew a hunter was looking for him and that achievement doesn't give you anything. No title. No tabard. No mount. Nothing.

Re: Loque worth the long fight?
Got a little advice for spawn timers.
He seems to spawn on similar timers to KK and Aotona, so if u see/tame/kill O.o any of them keep a record of what time it was.
They spawn about 3-6-9-12hrs so basically after u get a good idea around what time they spawn do a sweep every 3 hrs
Example:
See KK at 10:30
Try circling around then since even though they share timers they CAN spawn at the same time.
If not then ~1:30 come back and camp (personally i never camped i just did continuous circles of the spawn pts for 30min around the time i set (so say 10:15-10:45)) You can decide how early/late u wanna start/leave
If not try again ~4:30
etc.
You'll probly notice doing this you'll see alot of aotona and KK and possibly loque. So keep those times written down. Occasionally you won't see anything, but don't give up.
Also, if u see a rare at a new time, start following that time instead.
I found flying in a circle helped pass the time a bit rather than sitting still camping, nice scenery and I love the SB music track.
This was all before i found out about NPCscan, i was manually spammin a /tar macro linked to a sound clip of illidan saying "you are not prepared" -_-. tired fingers....
Also, funny thing is I actually got him when i wasn't trying just happened to be in the basin with guilides. I freaked out, dropped the wrong frost trap heheh, tamed and went ballistic. SO keep it up and GL you'll get it eventually.
DENINTELY worth it to me at least ;P.

Re: Loque worth the long fight?
One little detail is wrong. They DONT share timers. I learned that from a GM specifically. if they did, they wouldnt spawn at the same time or spawn one at 11;00 then another spawn at 11:04 while the other is still alive. So following the timers of KK and Aotona would get you no where. Loque is on his own spawn timer which can range between 3 - 16 hours.SpacemaNxSPIFF wrote:Got a little advice for spawn timers.

Re: Loque worth the long fight?
Hmm, I've heard conflicting things, and yea even from GMs, but I will take ur word for it. Although my personal experience is that i found them appearing around the same time and can either be one at a time or even all three, hence the seeing em both at the same time.
But anyways its just tips ive found worked somewhat for me, in the end you find it when your meant to

Re: Loque worth the long fight?
I've seen Loque spawn, die, then King Krush spawn 5 minutes later. I've seen them spawn exactly at the same time. I've seen them spawn at totally random times. But as it goes, they're on their own timer and it varies on how long it'll take for them to spawn from the time they were killed/tamed.
Re: Loque worth the long fight?
It goes with the "only 3-5 rares are up at a time" theory. When one gets killed in Northrend, another will spawn a couple minutes later. I bet there are many other variables on which spawn comes next, but according to the tlpdresource.com it seems legit (for how much time and effort he put into looking into this theory).Taluwen wrote:I've seen Loque spawn, die, then King Krush spawn 5 minutes later. Oh and Gondria, Arcturis, and Skoll are NOT part of the Frostbitten achievement since they were added a bit after WOTLK came out and after the Frostbitten achievement was already created
Either way, killing a rare for a stupid achievement that doesnt do squat for you while a hunter is attempting to tame it is a D move by someone. Seriously, it doesnt do ANYTHING for you if you get that achievement. If it got you a proto-drake, a tabard, a title, or even 1g in the mail I would be more inclinded to say "ok" for it

Re: Loque worth the long fight?
Not really. Okay, look at Loque. Does Loque do anything special? Does it really do anything for you? No. You just have a sparklekitty to follow you around. The achievement people have an achievement to link. Honestly, I've seen every single rare in the Basin (even Loque, three or four times), always dead or dying. It's not really douchey. It just seems douchey from OUR point of view. Honestly, not everyone's a hunter xDRoyi wrote:It goes with the "only 3-5 rares are up at a time" theory. Re: Loque worth the long fight?
loque is a rare beast, not just because of his looks. sure the only move i can think of that he has thats different is spirit strike, but yet that is more than just having a sparkly kitty to follow you around. much more. And what does the achievment prove to anyone? its useless in raids and dungeons, and pvp. all its worth is 25 achievment points, which just show how much time you spent on the game. Loque may not do anything special for you, but also you dont speak for all the hunters in the game, which is what im getting from your message.
Re: Loque worth the long fight?
Its douchey if its stolen, fair and square. If someone finds him and kills him on their own, I'm not railing against that. I'm against people killing him while a hunter is trying to tame him. Loque is amazing, he's my favorite pet out there, if anyone has the same taste as me they'll know how much more he means to them.Raydex-of-the-dawn wrote:Not really. Okay, look at Loque. Royi: On my NPCScan, it says they ARE apart of the achievement and I think the GMs added them in cause I've heard many say all 4 spirit beasts are required.

They are NOT a part of the achievement. Anyone who says otherwise is misinformed.Taluwen wrote:Royi: On my NPCScan, it says they ARE apart of the achievement and I think the GMs added them in cause I've heard many say all 4 spirit beasts are required.

Then I hope NPCScan fixes it cause they are listed under the Frostbitten achievement.

Re: Loque worth the long fight?
On my realm, when wrath came out and Loque was the only SB. There was a thing going on where people would find him, then ask for gold to not kill him and let a hunter tame, 1k,m 5k, 10k, even seen 20k being asked for once. It wasn't uncommon to come into Soizar and hearing general ablade by people wanting Loque and some dush tanking em asking for gold. We had a pally/priest combo team that would do that a LOT and they'd tank loque on end asking for gold to allow a hunter to tame em. Finally I think they got banned or suspended after I reported them with screen shots and such.. Never saw them again at least.
I ran into Loque by pure accident (again back when loque was the only SB) when helping a guildie farm ore, it was during love is in the air and we parted ways after I handed over the last batch of ore, and the direction I happened to take landed me smack dab face to face with Loque. I was shacking as the tame bar counted down, remembering ALL the other times I found that cat only to have it being agroed by someone demanding gold for it, or being grabbed by another hunter...
I got em with out a hitch, no more then my new friend walked up to my side did a horde hunter fly over head, stop, then fly off.

People still do it. I'm helping vegotio, asking in general if anyones seen loque and several asshats go "gimme 5k and I'll tell you".Twila wrote:On my realm, when wrath came out and Loque was the only SB. Re: Loque worth the long fight?
Npcscan just shows all the rares in northrend if your talking about npcscan overlay. I think the only one i had to munually install was Skoll but that may have changed with the patch. But as for the frostbitten acheivement the name are not on it. Only Loque, kIng Krush and Aotona are physically listed on the list when you look at the acheivement.
its sad to hear that people are still doing that but all is not lost. Ive seen alot of nice people who were willing to keep an eye out for King krush for me when I was looking. Of course offering a reward would for sure go in your favor, but sending out a message in general similair to
"Ni Hao. You see Godzilla? We wants to tame Godzilla! Me give you 500g+ leaping hatchling for wishpering me or Grys about said Godzilla and not killing it but letting her tame it. We love shola very much (not really.. please for the love of.. let us OUT!"
Something that will get attention that you want and will give something much more then just an acheivement mark and a useless blue. (ok I know people are like.. it drops 2 blues, and a bag. Those blues now sell for around.. 20-60g on my server.. as I have killed alot of rares for that acheivement and still have yet to sell those blues over 30g) plus youd be suprised with how many friends youll make. Ive made alot of hunter friends by doing that, and the more eyes you have out there the better!
Good luck on your hunt
