So i kinda have a lil RP thing going with my Devilsaur(nothing huge or compelling xD too lazy to write out a full fledge story now, lil too lazy but perhaps ill do it one day). This is kinda a back story and quick cap of the RP :p
For awhile i have had the idea that my Tyrant Devilsaur, over the time we have trekked across the lands has started to slightly molt his skin. His transformation is very very slow but he will/has begun to show some green coloring to his hide (the tyrant model actually has some slight green patch coloring to it) and that when completed he will have shed an entire layer of skin and having in it's place, a fully green hide.
Pretty much once i can tame King Krush is when his transformation will be finished. The Rp aspect is that ANOMNOMNOM is secretly a rare Devilsaur breed that has not been seen in thousands of years. A breed that flourished when the titans first began their experiments with Sholozar and Ungoro life and were the "kings" of the jungle lands. However the other Devilsaurs felt threatened by this superior breed and made a temporary tribe ( yes Devilsaurs are that smart >.>) and went about slaughtering them for fear of being wiped out themselves. They thought to have successfully eradicated these favored Devilsaurs of the Titans....however one was destined to arise to the high seat again...but not for years to come.
When i first encountered the Tyrant Devilsaur ( to later be named as ANOMNOMNOM) he was fending off two other Devilsaurs ( the white and ironhide ones) that for whatever reason were trying to kill and devour the smaller Devilsaur "pup"( even though he is huge, ANOMNOM is only 100 years old which in our years is that of a baby). I couldn't bare to see such cruelty before my eyes and so i attacked and sent the other two off. This Tyrant Devilsaur immediately bonded with me and saw me as a parent figure. He has a undying love for me and a fierce loyalty that will never falter. It is not sure who or what has hidden ANOMNOMNOM's true identity, or to why the rare "King" breed is destined to return. But the only thing that is known is that there is indeed a change occurring within the Devilsaur companion that treks the lands with me.
So my Devilsaur!
So my Devilsaur!

I love the idea of the molting, very cool! ^^ And that way you can still keep your pet as the 'same' one even after switching.
Very cute backstory, and best of luck with taming Krush!
Though, I will be honest with you, from an RP perspective the name 'ANOMNOMNOM' sort of breaks the immersion. Just saying.

Thanks ^ ^
Well i decided that since he is just a Baby that he was to have a babyish name but when he ascends to his true breed that he would have grown and become wiser and then adopting a more fitting name :]

I had had the same general idea for Clayburn of a 'molt' out of juvenile colors and into a different, adult coloring.
However, luck has not been with me finding Krush a second time (stupid nelf rogue killing my tame target for a dumb achievement grumblegrumble...), and as people here have pointed out, Tahl and Clayburn look nice together as-is. So while Tahl may be expecting his buddy to undergo a color change the next time he sheds his skin...Clayburn's going to teach him that sometimes, things staying as they are is the best thing.

Hee, Tahl and Clayburn really do just match perfectly. xD The skintone is the same as his belly colour, the hair the same as his scales, and the green eyes really 'pop'. Plus the black accents on his markings and the gear...it just looks so nice! :3 (I'm such a sucker for matching colour schemes xD)
