You couldn't get white onions, because of the War of the Ancients. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones... but then you would lose the socket bonuses that you get with the Onion... I was the only one with a onion socket and thats how Blizzard came up with Jewelcrafting... which was the style at the time..."

I have to admit that I didn't get it... I mean, it's funny from the whole "grumpy old folks complaining about walking uphill both ways through a snowstorm" kind of way, but I guess pop culture references (whether new or old) just go over my head. What's with the onion?
