Well, so far I have tamed all the new parrots. =D I'm totally in love with the scarlet macaw and the yellow and green macaw. Has anyone else tried them? I know I'm definitely taming one from Deadmines when I can!

The scarlet's name is Margarita, and the yellow/green is called Tijuana. xD

I use the blue-purple-white rare one from Deadmines on my hunter all the time. I call her Violet

I want to get the purple/white parrot as well. x) Is it possible to do a solo-run through Heroic Deadmines to get to the beauty? That's the only snag in my plan for her, heh...
Either that skin or the green/yellow skin. I'm a bit hesitant on this one, though, considering how BRIGHT her colours are! Guess I should just wait until Cata goes live to test her out. I'm going with the name "Gypsy", no matter what skin I decide on.

At the time of discovery (I can't say now), the blue/purple/white and the white/yellow parrots were not given rare status (no silver dragon) but they were effectively rare spawns. They only appeared rarely (every few resets or so) amongst the other two colours.

I had to let my Aotona last week, but I swear to you that I will find her again. I hunted for her for over a year, and it was only by chance that I found her. I loved her so much and she matched my lil hyacinth macaw and all. That was untill last week or so someone posted here that they got a GM to restore there "ghost hydra" from over a year ago!

You see my hunter will become a goblin as soon as she is able to. And back when the "ghost hydra" was tamable, so was the slime. I took both for a test run, but only had room for one. I choose the hydra. Never regretted it, but wished I kept the slime too. Fast forward back to last week. So OMG I could ask a GM to restore my Puddles? O_O Can you imagine my little goblin hunter with a little slime pet /Squeeeeeee, way to cute... but but... I will have to abandon.... /cry ....

The good new was that the GM restored Puddles with out even a question, I was so excited, but as for Aotona..

I took her back to the same place I had tamed her. I promised her I would be back, it's gonna be like a holiday out of the stabes I said. I miss her, but i know my beautiful parrot will come back to be again when she an I are ready.

I could be wrong, but I think you can get it on regular Deadmines runs.

Yep, I got mine (and also the white/yellow rare) on regular Deadmines. You can quickly run it over and over till it appears.

My only issue with the new parrots it now Aotona won't be as unique. Yes she'll be the only blue/purple aprrot, but now everyone will be running around with multi coloured birds. Yes, I'm being selfish. But... it WILL make Pirate day way more fun! Imagine the screen shots!

I agree, though I do want the red one when cata comes out.

Aotona will still be unique. In fact, she'll probably be MORE unique, since parrot lovers won't HAVE to tame her in order to have a parrot anymore. She stands out as much as the hyacinth macaw does.

That said, I'll be happy for my lil' gray birdie.

Is one of the new parrots the same skin as the Miniwing pet you can get in Terrokar? If so, that's the one I'm getting.

Yes, that's one of the two "rare" ones that may appear in the last room of Deadmines. The common ones there are red/blue or green/orange.

first day in beta, copied 'shaitaan' into 'the lost isles', after picking up new flight skill, headed over to deadmines, tamed every parrot version there....stuck em all in stable, flew over to 1000 needles, tamed the ones over there as well....already had aotona for a while, decided to keep the grey, turquoise and yellow, green and orange, scarlet and blue ones...other 2 i released.......being as i have an african grey in RL i had to name the grey one after her, Twilight, (no not after the movies ) and the scarlet one i named Sunny...still no names for the other 2 yet...

Is the Skywing/Miniwing skin one of the new tamables? That's the one I really want.

Edit: Just noticed up above that it is tamable. I danced with joy ^.^ My pet python is now looking at me funny.
