Have you seen this worg?

In the same patch where Blizzard "fixed" the Sons of Hakkar so that they would no longer color-change, they did the same to the Bloodaxe Worg. Now, all the Bloodaxe Worgs in LBRS are black and stay that way, and all the Scarshield Worgs are the red-brown and stay that way (I checked last night on live to make sure it really was the red fur/green eyes skin). Both are tamable, unless something really major has changed.

So it looks like the brown fur/blue eyes skin is still unaccounted for at present.

I'm aware this post is about a month old, but I wanted to point something out--then I'ma go around looking at reddish worgs everywhere.

The Horde 60% base mount "Timber Wolf" is the same as Tito, by looks. I noticed it when riding through Searing Gorge, and remembered this thread, so I figured I'd come give you guys a look. Maybe this was the main reason for this skin? I don't know why they'd have two so similar. Notice the much larger difference between these two and the "blue-eyed" skin, the "Brown Wolf" mount, in the last image.

I think you're right; the timber wolf looks like Tito (who does NOT have blue eyes) and the other one looks like the worg pup's other color. Why is neither tameable? qq :/

Thanks for those pics, Acherontia! Nice job. You're probably right, the skins could well have been created for more mount colours. Hopefully they'll be available on tameable beasts though.

I just wanted to point out that in your comparison, it is visible that their eyes have difference colours, but you can't really tell that in the model viewer in wowhead

Speaking of very minute colour differences, see if you can tell the differences between these two green core hound skins!

- The in-game version used on the green core hounds in SMV, etc.

- The unused version, found as a green skin option for the original core hound model

The unused version is very subtly yellower than the in-game one. Both skins are listed as FelBeastSkinGreenBlack.

I suspect that the Brown Wolf is one of the fake pets hanging around the Mount Vendor and Stable Master in Orgrimmar.

I know Blizzard is trying to make stables more interesting, but I wish they'd stop scattering random untameable one-off beasts around the world like that.
