Hunter with "many" pets out?

I don't know how he's done it - but there appears to be some "exploitable bug" with having loads of pets out...
Or at least.. the same pet out many times.

What you do, is dismiss your pet, then go to tame a a new pet, then around .2 seconds to the end of the tame call your pet. then abandon your newly tamed pet, rinse and repeat. After you do it the first time, you need to ice the tame, or your 'extra pets' will attack it.

The pet clones use the AI setting of the original pet.

Meaning they won't attack your tame target if they had been set to passive before you created a clone of them. Good if you're just trying to use the clones for picture taking purposes.

Erm...this sounds rather uncomfortably like an exploit. As I don't think we want to get anyone banned for following said directions, do we want to keep this up here?

As much as I would love to get a screenshot with a bunch of my pets out at once, I fear this does tread into the realm of exploits, so I'd caution against doing this purposefully.

I doubt they would hammer people for just trying it out (the pets despawn whenever you zone somewhere or log out so you can't exploit it for raid progression or the like). Needless to say exploiting this bug for pvp would get you in trouble.

I had fun all Monday dueling ppl with my 20+ pets They seemed to enjoy it too, as they kept trying to duel me and kill off all my pets. Didnt work to well for them however as the healers in the area seemed to be having fun rezing all my baby clones Funny thing happened after a while of clone pet deaths and rezes, 3 of the clones (2 core hounds and a serpent) went from 5kish hp to 29-30k hp. Their dps seemed to scale as well as it took me about 2 sec (not exaggerating) to kill most anybody. A friend suggested I clone as many as my computer can hold and smack down the world boss in hellfire. I might just go into AQ 20 or 40 and try that too.

An exploit is an exploit. You aren't supposed to do it for any reason. Hence why people get banned for them.

I believe they will vanish if you use a portal, Hearthstone, Dungeon Finder or Battleground queue. Although you could still use them in world PvP, in which it would be a rather bad exploit and that might get you suspended for a bit. Otherwise, I think the most you'd get is a warning from a GM.

I tried this again just to check and yes, it appears to have been fixed. Ah, well. Probably for the best.
