I've been running Heroic Utguarde Pinnacle pretty much every day since I hit 80 back in June, with no sign of the Blue Proto-Drake. Today was different. My pug group killed Skadi, it dropped, I rolled a 90! Finally, after all this time I'd have my mount!

The warlock in my group rolled 99.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me a few weeks back where I was in an Obsidian Sanctum 25-man, the very first time I was there. We killed the boss with all three mini-bosses alive, I got my title, a bunch of achievements, and when it came to the Twilight Drake roll, I got a 96! A rogue in the group got 99.

99 is becoming my least favourite number.

I think I need a hug.

Yeah, of the times I've been super lucky (getting queldalar, getting the hh mount last year), I really hadn't invested any major effort (with queldalar I never even suspected I might get one) - whereas when I really really want something, it can often feel like it takes forever.

Most recently, I wanted the felglacier bolter for my BE hunter. On my warrior, the bolter dropped 8/10 of the time, no exaggeration... but on my hunter it took 22 tries. And that's hardly a "rare" item.

But, I did eventually get it. Just had to watch it pass first to a ton of random ppl. Sigh.

Yeah, I've played since Wrath release and never even seen that Proto-drake drop. o_O *hugs* You'll get it!

I got my Swift Razashi Raptor (server 2nd) by closing my eyes and wishing... I rolled a 100!
