I did something similar. First time in Gundrak, was running with some guildies but I didn't really know them that well (I was the quiet one).

I had died on both of the bosses for stupid mistakes at least halfway through, and felt like I wasn't holding up my end--but they're guildies, and were probably trying to be nice about it, or so I thought. So I was DETERMINED to hold up my end and start contributing more.

As we start getting ready to go, I take the lead, turn a corner and...run straight into a mob. Panic, run back towards the rest of the group thinking they can help me kill it; halfway there I go "duh, Karma. ROGUE," and vanish....RIGHT when the healer healed me.

Insta-aggro, priest dies in like two hits, along with 2 other members of the run. Fortunately, they laughed, but I felt like a complete idiot. Now, of course, it is amusing. :)

Lol I have one from just the other day actually. It was during the Love is in the Air boss in SFK. It was our first time running so no one knew the strategy for the boss. We wiped four of the five tries and were on our last attempt when the tank and two other DPS bit it. That left me and the pally healer. I was trying to kite them around the room through all the perfume puddles on the floor (but wasn't doing too bad over all thanks to the heals) when our healer said "run". Now I'm thinking 'why run? kiting them is going fine so far'.. But he was the group leader and I did as what I thought I was bid to do. I ran back out so they reset..

Turns out he was talking to the rest of the group to run back to the instance. So I botched that up by mistake. lol
They were cool about it thankfully. It still made me feel like a dunce though. lol :)

Welcome to another edition of Dumb Hunter Tricks!

My first WoW guild was quite casual (though I didn't realize the extent at the time, being new to WoW). Let's just say that full Kara clears were not a guarantee, even after ZA was out. One of my guildies, a feral druid, was prowling to check out the room on the way to Maiden with the quest item book while we were waiting for half the raid to run back after dying. (This was before druids had a real res.) I got the brilliant idea of using Eyes of the Beast to send my prowling ghost saber Atalanta after my guildie to also scout. I very quickly learned that feral druids have a better prowl than hunter pets, as my poor kitty aggroed the four mobs in the room from what I had previously thought was a safe distance. To make a long story short (too late), the remainder of the raid wiped due to that. I think I was too surprised (and possibly guilt-ridden) to feign.

Thank the Maker I've learned since then and never pulled off another stunt quite that huntarded again.

Although I do recall pulling the same room in Scholo that Ruby did with Medusa, my short-lived wind serpent, who got a little kill happy with the tab-targetting. Sigh. That was just carelessness, though; that first incident was still the worst.

Maybe this is why I still have some empathy for people still learning the game; I remember what it was like to be totally clueless and not even know I was.

A long time ago, back when my main was just a wee level 26 with a hyena, I ran Wailing Caverns for the first time. Now we were a pretty ill-equipped group, with the warlock's voidwalker tanking better than the actual tank, and a healer who wasn't quite sure how far back they could stand, so overall I wasn't entirely huntarded. What I did not know yet was that just because you don't want to use Volley in PvE, doesn't mean you shouldn't train it.

So when the tank yelled "Hunter AoE!!" my reply was "What?"

Needless to say, we wiped. But once we established who had what abilities, it went a little more smoothly. It was a good learning experience but I felt like a moron for a long while after that.

And in case you should wonder, and in case you should care...on that night of all nights, we were already there.

I've personally done the old disengage off various objects (Occulus, Nexus next to the second boss, Forge of Souls, to much hilarity of my guild). Im sure theres much more but my hunters relatively new :)

But one of my hunter guildies, Jastey has the funniest stories. I met her when i first logged into wow for the first time 3 years ago, and we have been best mates ever since.

Some funny things she has done

- She used to think when u logged out at night you had to be in a bed. We would always run into one of the inn's and /lie down in a bed before logging. We didn't realize this was wrong until level 70 lol.

- I helped her on the eye of Grillock quest in Hellfire (in tbc), and we tried for over an hour to get her to do it successfully (took me 2 mins on my rogue), as she kept accidentally killing the eye..

- During our guild first Magtheridon kill, the fight started because she sneezed and hit her keyboard sending her pet in, and her attacking one of the adds. After some confusion on vent we continued the fight and got the guild first!

- When I had finally got my hunter (hunter is an alt) to 80,and was at the trainer. She was hanging out with me, and clicked on the trainer. She then realised she had raided for 6 months without learning the highest rank of blackarrow :S - We were in ulduar by this stage LOL!

- She had a knack of her pets running in to start bossfights early (not only when sneezing). Some of her victims (usually raid wipes) - Gruul, Magtheridon, Festergut, Patchwerk.

- She has awesome gear, yet manage to start her tame on Gondria with 30% hp, and no mana due to duelspeccing. She died twice taming Gondria in ICC gear! LOL

Ahh I <3 her to bits

lol, wiped in WC at 26? I *don't* think that one was your fault, regardless of AoE. xD
