I had to come vent my frustration here where I know you'll understand.

I decided to try for getting all colors of Devilsaur.

I already had PinkyWinky my albino. I tamed Tyrantus, and I'm in the process of stalking King Mosh.

Well today on my trip through Sholazar, I was flying up and down the western spawn path, and just as I almost reached the southern end, where I had JUST been moments before, my NPC scan went off, and there was The King... DEAD. And some DK standing over him. It was very sad/angry/frustrating to think if I had not flown north for those few moments, things could have ended SO differently. I am an achievement collector on my main, so I know how that goes, but I also know how it is to want the tame, and be foiled by some d00d who doesn't give a rip.

Aw. Yeah, I know that feeling all too well. I missed Aotona by 3 minutes one time and was kicking myself SO HARD. Though, the guy who tamed her seems pretty nice and groovy so it worked out.

At least now you know his timer or have a very good idea, so you needn't sit and camp until a bit before then.

Don't give up...I was actually on the edge of giving up. So I decided to log into the beta in the hope to see him and check the path he walks. While in the beta, NPCscan goes off in live. This one takes time, but oh be proud once you got it as it's a rare sight to see a hunter with this pet!

Well, to add insult to injury, I went to check on King Mosh in Un'goro.

Well this priest told me they had SKINNED his corpse not long ago! The priest didn't kill it, just skinned it, and confirmed it said "King Mosh."

Well, it looks like I am done for the week (180-360 hour respawn timer, how sucky is THAT)?

The only upside is I saw a level 80 hunter riding by, and she said she was after the black devilsaur. I reminded her of the level 70 one in Netherstorm, and she decided to go get him! So I guess it wasn't a total loss.

EDIT: I just took a ride through Arathi, and Araga was up! :O
I have only seen her "in the wild" one other time. I had read she is a super-rare spawn, and I had already decided if I saw her again I would tame her for a least a little while, see what makes her so special! I feel very privileged that I found her. And yeah I do feel a little less depressed over the 2 Kings being killed today.

This place feeds my obsession for pets in the worst way. I think I want the other Devilsaurs now...

Keep up the search on King Krush. I found him one night out of the blue while I was camping for Loque. I was in a complete panic trying to wake my boyfriend up to have him fly his Priest out to help me. As he was flying out, a BE DK came up and popped army. I was screaming at him. He never responded. And I got Frostbitten, and King Krush's loot. It was mortifying. I've never understood how some people can be so careless. I had heard a few more kills of him while I was out there for Loque, but I gave up on him for quite some time. I finally managed the tame after 3 straight days of hardcore camping. I had a friend sitting at his Pillar location. And 2 other hunters were logging in and out of the basin to help me. One was waiting for Loque. And during one of my pats, I had an invite to group and one of the hunters screaming in General. He had spawned behind me. And after almost losing my Priest friend and myself several times, I FINALLY tamed him sans any buffs. It was awesome. So just keep at it.

My best advice is to let everyone know that you're out to get him. I have a General spam for every rare that I seriously camp. And I drive everyone nuts in the zone with the macro every 20-30 minutes. I usually offer money dependent on how badly I want to get out of that zone, which is anywhere between 1000-2000g. It's a great way to get the word out. And even though you get plenty of haters and liars, I'd say it's the best way to get your tame. I've had the most success with this strat.

Kittykat and I are both on Area 52, and maybe she can relate on how sometimes it seems that 80% of the server are jerks, 15% just don't care, and the other 5% are the jewels in the rough.

I had to beg people to help me keep and eye out for Krush, and even offered 400 Saronite ores to the person who would invite me, tag KK, and then get wailed on while I made it there to tame.

After 11 days of camping a L.77 hunter who needed money ran into KK and invited me to a party. By the time I got to him his pet was dead and KK was chomping away on the other hunter, heh. I was able to pull agro pretty easily with the corehound I had and then did the macro to abandon, drink speed potion, and start tame.

I told the other hunter if he wanted some extra gold to hold off on selling the ore til about a week or so after Cataclysm hits and everyone who needs ore will be buying some of it on the AH.

He was happy.
I was VERY happy, and relieved that I could actually DO something else other than circle the basin.

So I am 3 of 3 on the Sholozar rares... I am so glad I don't have to go back there for rares on my main hunter.

Well, still waiting for Krush to come to me.

I spent quite a while yesterday just sitting in Sholazar, making trips around to the various spawn points every so often, to keep from getting too bored. I made a "WANTED: King Krush" macro to press every 20-30 minutes. Sometimes I got rude responses
"Info should come with a gold reward"

"I just killed it... j/k j/k" (Ironically, several of these responders ended up kindly offering to tell me if they saw him so I could get the tame)

"If I see it I will tell you... after I kill it"
These responses I tend to politely ask "Why? So you can get a crappy blue item that most likely wont even sell on the AH with Cata coming out in 5 weeks?" Maybe they won't listen or care, but maybe it will make them think about it, and if even one person changes their mind it's worth it to me. Usually they don't answer.

I've also gotten several kind responses. After someone asked for gold in exchange for info, THREE people said they would gladly tell me if they saw him for free. Two other hunters said they were looking for rares. We mutually agreed to tell each other if we saw one. Of course, with the exception that if we saw our target we'd tame it first. But communicating spawn times helps too!

I have 2 new hunters on my friends list. One of them offered gold in exchange for info on Loque. I said I would never accept anything, but I'd gladly tell them/invite them the minute I saw Loque!

I am no stranger to this kind of rude behavior while camping. While I was camping Skoll, I had a hunter whisper me to tell me that Skoll wasn't going to spawn today. It was a Tuesday. Did he really think I was that stupid? I told him that I was just collecting the Spirit Beasts and wasn't too upset if someone else tamed him over me. I'm just passing the time. And he proceeded to tell me that he was MM. Then what does it matter to you whether I come out and camp? He told me that people wouldn't believe that I'd give them money for his tame. That's odd since I tamed Loque and King Krush using the same macro. However, the people that have helped me tame have never let me give them money. YES, there are decent people that play WoW. I don't understand what made him think that he was the Storm Peaks Police or something. But after being completely rude I told him, "Look, boy. Go bother someone else." And he met my ignore list. I spent too much time typing to him and not enough looking for my prize.

And that guy is just my most recent jerk. I have encountered the "I just killed him" kind. The "He's here" kind. The "Who is that" kind. And all of the sorts. But I have found some of the nicest people ever with this macro. People that don't know about the rares have asked for info so they can help. And a lot of people just don't respond. Hell, the day after I tamed Skoll, a hunter that was in the zone camping TLPD whispered me to tell me about seeing him. I told him to find another hunter to tame him since I had gotten him the day before.

I guess what I am saying is don't get discouraged and don't give them the privilege of thinking they upset you. You will find those gems out there that will sincerely want to help you find your man.

Yeah, I settled in to camp Skoll for a bit yesterday and got my head bitten off when I sat at a spot. >_O But then a totally awesome hunter got TLPD and she's keeping an eye out for Skoll, so it balances out! I'm super happy and hope I find Skoll.

What a sad state of affairs. No, Krush hasn't spawned, but Loque did, and someone killed it VERY quickly.

I flew over as soon as someone called it out in general chat, trying to get there and hoping to see it tamed. Sadly I was too late and it was already dead.

"Someone KILLED IT" I typed out angrily in general.

I flew down, sad to see the majestic form lying there broken and still. I respectfully skinned the great corpse, committing the remains back to the earth.

Later someone would throw those words in my face, accusing me of killing Loque, as if I ever could! And threatening to kill Krush out from under me as revenge. However, my info was able to give other hunters some idea when he might respawn. Hopefully next time a hunter will get there first.

I got him! I got the Krushiest of the big stompy awesome pets!

At 7:30 I was hanging out by the Bones south of Nesingwary. I had searched other spots, but I always came back to those bones, I just had a feeling...

My NPC scan kept being set off by other hunters' pets, so when it went off, I went "Oh great..." which quickly turned into AAAH It's HIM! when I targeted the King in the flesh. Alive. I freaked out.

I was flying around, I couldn't see him! I had him targeted... WHY CAN'T I SEE HIM!??

Finally there he was majestically walking through the trees, the true King of the Basin. I popped my haste potion, hit tame beast, and my heart was about to pound out of my chest.

I called it out in general "I GOT KRUSH!!!!"

My hands were shaking so hard I could barely reply to the "congrats" messages. I am not sure what to name him now, but I am sure once we've had some time together I will figure it out. The hardest part is past, and he's my friend now!

The funny thing is that I always curse myself for camping rare spawns. But in those moments when you FINALLY find them, you realize it is all worth it. The high is unbelievable.

Have fun picking out a name. It's one of the best parts!
