Goodbye Taylor

I am out-of-state going to college, so my buddy is staying with my mom while I am away.
I just found out that they had to put him to sleep because he was suffering from renal failure.
Poor guy... at least he went peacefully.

Best damn cat in the world. Any other description wouldn't do him justice.

You will be missed, my trusted and true, friend and companion...

He was "my" cat and I was "his" human. If there was such a thing as a Spirit Bond, we had it.
He was getting a bit old, he was 16-18 yrs old (he was a rescue, so we have no idea his real age) so it is not that odd that he would get sick. But, it would have been nice to know before he was put to sleep.
But I know that things don't go the way we want them to.

I will fondly remember the days when he slept on my chest as we lay relaxing in the afternoon sun....

Aww, I'm really sorry about your kitty. Just from that one picture of him, he looked like he had a ton of personality. He was really pretty, too. I suppose at least it's a good thing that they caught it in time to put him to rest peacefully, rather than have something horrible happen in the middle of the night.

I hope you feel better soon.

Look at that nose! So adorable.

I feel for you, especially not getting a chance to say goodbye. Something similar happened with my first iguana.

But he knew you loved him. And you have good memories of your time together.
