Re: The Riddler
OK, there are two stones and since no prisoner ever was able to draw the white, the rumors about both stones being black are probably true.
So, no matter what you do, you'll lose your life as you can only get black out of the box.
You have to make people believe that you draw white in hiding what you really drew.
Just snatch it out of the box and swallow it! If someone asks which you drew, just tell them to look in the box which color is left. Then, obviously, you must have drawn the other!
Since both are black, a black one will be in the box, right? And the Kaldorei can only
a) admit that he is a lying cheater and never had a white stone in there or
b) grit his teeth, congratulate you for you unbelievable luck, pat you on the back and let you go.
Was it really that hard?
So, now back for some logic...
I once was wandering the mountains of Dun Morogh, up in the fresh air, close to the sky when I stumbled over three statues. They were standing on a pedestal that was labeled
I wondered which one was which and while I was thinking about it, I must have wondered aloud when I took a closer look at the statue in the middle "Who are you?"
To my astonishment, that statue said "I'm the god of diplomacy." I looked at the left statue and asked "Who stands beside you?" and got "The god of truth" as an answer. I asked the statue on the right "Who stands beside you?" and it answered "The god of lies."
I smiled, because I now knew which statue was standing for which god.
Do you know too?

The one on the left is the god of truth, the one in the middle is the god of lies, and the one on the right is the god of diplomacy.
....Possibly? xD

Nope, sorry, that's wrong.
Look at my second question again and think about it for a minute.

Re: The Riddler
On the stones: Egad! I could never think of that. Good thing I wasn't the prisoner.
On the gods: From left to right we have Diplomacy (who calls Lies Truth to be diplomatic), Lies (who says he is Diplomacy), and Truth (who correctly identifies Lies beside him).

Re: The Riddler
The one in the middle should be the liar, otherwise it wouldn't work...
The one on the left said truth, so he has to be right...
The one on the right said lies, since he was diplomatically making the problem ok by saying he was the one of lies, since the other two had already spoken...
...right?

What can bring back the dead; make us cry, make us laugh, make us young; born in an instant yet lasts a life time. What is it?Karathyriel wrote:Does anyone else have some riddles too?

Re: The Riddler
The answer is: NOTHING
Edit: No, that wouldn't fit the cry / laugh bit... I go with Veph then!

I believe Zangor is praising your riddling power!
I often have trouble with logic problems like the statue thing, but this one was both simple enough and had enough context that it wasn't too hard on me. The worst bit is that I started out thinking that diplomatically, you should refer to Lies as Diplomacy, but then I realized that calling the middle god calling himself Diplomacy really ruined that scenario.

Re: The Riddler
Riddle:
While exploring the depths of the Stranglethorn Jungle, an Orc happens upon a tribe of Bloodscalp Trolls. He's captured and taken to their leader. Gan'zulah, the chief of the Bloodscalps, told him he was allowed one final statement on which would hinge how he would die. If the statement he made was false, he would be boiled in water. If the statement were true, he would be fried in oil. Sine the Orc did not like either option, he made a statement that forced the trolls to release him. What is the one statement he could make to save himself?

Re: The Riddler
Veph your's is easy (I think
). The orc would say "I am to be boiled in water." That would be false so he would be boiled in water, but then that would make his statment true, so his statment is true and false.

Re: The Riddler
You're correct Lakewalker! ^^
If the Orc said "You will boil me in water.", the trolls would face a dilemma. If they boil him in water, that would make his statement true, which means he should have been fried in oil. They can only fry him in oil if he makes a true statement, but if they do, it would make his final statement false. The trolls had no way out of their situation so they were forced to set him free.

You forget they are trolls. They just stab him. And eat him.Vephriel wrote:so they were forced to set him free.

Re: The Riddler
Technically yes, but in the interest of the riddle being solvable we have to turn our heads and whistle innocently while the poor Orc is slain and scalped. ;D
