New poster here! Spirit mend question!
Aside from soloing and pvp, in regards to a 5man or even a raid, what various uses have you found for this ability? Or thoughts on it period? I love the concept, but myself, I just havent found a good way to use this spell, and with the current issues with spirit pets not retaining their charge spell once learned, Im having a hard time using one for challenging runs. <granted, new to 80 and my gear is dismil, so most stuff is a "challenge!"> Thanks in advance

It's good for everything. Because the Spirit Beast also has the cat family's buff, you aren't losing anything by having the heal. So...
* In 5 mans, leave the heal on autocast. If someone is getting low on hp and the healer is struggling, the pet will heal them, and might just save the group from a wipe. Or, toggle autocast, and use a macro to heal yourself or the pet if your healer is losing control of the situation. Because you're asking specifically about group content, I'll add that it helps majorly in the long run, especially in a five-man where the healer is cc'd temporarily. The Spirit Mend is an emergency buffer--think HoR Heroic, healer gets kidney-shotted while tank is dropping fast. 5k crit heal from spirit beast + dot might just keep him up long enough for the healer to come out of it and get one off.
* For soloing, it's fantastic. I wouldn't bring anything else to Delrissa in MgT. I use a tank pet for fights where I'm not taking damage, and a Spirit Beast to heal me on fights where I'm getting blasted despite not having aggro.
* For PvP, it's a lifesaver. There's not much I can say about it here because it's so obvious
Let's just say that it saves my life more often than I can count! Imagine that pesky spriest or lock dying, and while you're waiting to get out of combat and eat, the dots are ticking... SPIRIT MEND!

Thanks for the replies
I spose the reason I am having trouble seeing a use for it in 5+ man content is I never see it being cast while on autocast, so it left me wondering "Does this have a purpose outside of soloing and pvp?" Not that Im knocking it, again, I love it. I had always thought hunters should have pets that could heal other players. Again, thanks for the replies. Off to see if I can figure out a way to get the charge spell to stay learned. I managed to snag two of these awesome pets, the bear and leopard, but the charge talent is sitting around in the void
