I can't help but wonder about it after seeing the red hyena "hounds" in SM get turned into red mastiffs.

A question to those in the beta
Has anyone checked to see if the Durnholde Tracking Hound (normal black wolf model) in the Old Hillsbrad instance have been turned into a black mastiff and made tamable?

Good point. Last time I checked (a few patches ago) they weren't. But that was a while ago nowSkyshot wrote:Has anyone checked to see if the Durnholde Tracking Hound (normal black wolf model) in the Old Hillsbrad instance have been turned into a black mastiff and made tamable?

Durnholde Tracking Hounds are now mastiffs. They all seem to be the yellow colour.
Unfortunately they're not tameable. I left a suggestion.

Don Carlos and his wolf Guerrero still wander that instance, too. Guerrero is still a coyote model wolf.

Yay for actual dog 'hounds' instead of wolves. It's a shame they aren't tamable or black mastiffs though.
I still have my fingers crossed that my orc will be able to have a black mastiff for Cata.

The hunt begins. First target wasn't a go (yet) but there in lies hope.

In fact the only mastiff colour that doesn't seem to be available to everyone at this point is just the grey one.

Re: A question to those in the beta
Woohoo thanks for that heads-up! Makes my night to hear I'll be getting my black pooch after all. I hope that grey one surfaces though for anyone that wants to tame it.
I wonder if there's any other hounds that still have to undergo the wolf/hyena -> mastiff change that's been popping up lately.

Re: A question to those in the beta
Wondering if someone on beta might be kind enough to check the models for these NPCs:
Stanley in Hillsbrad Foothills (Horde Quest)
Foxy in Westguard Keep (Alliance town) in Howling Fjord
Grinning Dog in Orgrimmar (was never tamable by either faction, but could have changed)
Scarlet Farm Hound in the Scarlet area of EPL... might only be available in the DK starting quests, not sure.
The first two are currently white wolves... would be interesting to see what model they get if changed.

Re: A question to those in the beta
The Scarlet Farm Hound seems to be only available during the DK starting area phasing, checked a bit ago. Will give the others a shot later on.
Re: A question to those in the beta
I can't find Stanley - that entire area is now plagued. Some of the human NPCs survived in ... altered form ... so he might be there, but I didn't see him.Malazee wrote:Wondering if someone on beta might be kind enough to check the models for these NPCs:
