I disagree that the number of available mounts is a very big deal, and I say this as someone who plays Alliance and would therefore be at the disadvantage for mount collecting. As has been mentioned, Blizzard can easily re-color a couple existing mounts to inflate the number of mounts available to the faction (doing so for one each race grabs you an easy five right off the bat, and Blizz could be even MORE lazy and just bring back some of the epic Vanilla models if they so chose). More upsetting to me is the loss in variety.Necrie wrote: So, why does this matter ?
Several reasons:
1. More mounts make it that much easier for the Horde to get the 50 and 100 mount achievements, as well as any other future mount achievements, such as a 150 one. It may not seem like much, but City reputations are easy to grind, and when you're one mount away from one of the achievements, tell me having your character's faction being short 6-7 mounts isn't a big deal. It is.
2. I'm with Mania and those wanting Worgen specific mounts. I want more cool mounts to ride. More mounts are more fun, and provide motivation for players to get exalted with Gilneas.
Dear god, no more horses. We have fat horses, armored horses, vampire horses, skeleton horses, flying horses, ghost horses, warhorses, unicorn horses; we have more kinds of horse than we have elf in this game. And, that's kind of the problem with giving Worgen a different mount: they WERE human. It's not like they're about to up and decide, "Ah, you know, we used to ride horses, but ever since we got cursed, I've thought we should ride our cows instead."Necrie wrote:3. It doesn't make sense. Worgen will have to have the riding skill anyway to fly. They'll have to use mounts to fly. They're originally humans. Many of the people in/from Gilneas are still human. Hell you even ride a horse in one of the Gilneas quests to rescue a guy hanging in a tree(been a while since I saw the quest, I don't remember the details). Why don't they have mounts ? On a side note, if Running Wild should let me fly, then I demand to have tracks of fire, alla Back to the Future, behind me if I have 310% flying and use Running Wild![]()
Yha well let them keep their running wild ability but have thm have a special treaty that lets them buy horses from the humans or the tiger from the elves. Why should worgen have to take time to grind rep just to get a mount. I mean Druids can transform for both land forms and air forms, but they also can purchase mounts,Kyonarai wrote:personally, I like the running. If you want your worgen to ride a mount then level in one of the other zones for rep, sheesh. Running wild is something new and different; I'd rather have that than the same mechanic we've been looking at forever.

Taluwen wrote:Guys, I'm pretty sure Blizzard's put their foot down about this. The Worgen aren't getting mounts. People pitch a fit about a lot of things and half the time, if not all the time, Blizzard usually shrugs it off. I'm almost certain they'll do it with this as well because currently, as someone said before, the mounts on each faction are even. I don't remember if it included the goblin mounts but I think it did. I remember the number was 33 mounts.
This info is for live.Necrie wrote:For the topic on the number of Alliance mounts versus Horde:
...[snip]...
Alliance
(6 total Exodar)
(6 total Ironforge)
(7 total Gnomeregan)
(7 total Stormwind)
(7 total Darnassus)
33 total core alliance mounts
Horde
(7 total Silvermoon City)
(7 total Orgrimmar)
(6 total Thunder Bluff)
(6 total Darkspear Trolls)
(7 total Undercity)
33 total core Horde mounts
As you can see, both races have 33 core faction mounts they can get.
er... so, what if you already have the Ambassador title ? Its not like they'll take it away...Taluwen wrote:Grinding rep isn't always just about mounts. I did it just because I wanted to. The mounts and the title were a bonus. I wont be surprised if they add Gilneas to the Ambassador requirements. So if you want the title, you'll have to grind the rep.

Or get Exalted with the Argent Crusade for their mount, a charger with a change of barding.Makoes wrote:...thats why my Dreanie is now exhaulted with Ironforge. I'd have loved to keep my horse, since I really dont like the elephant/mammoth mounts. So, Ram is the next best thing.
Horde gets three Alliance mounts. Ram, riding cat, and some of the 8 billion varieties of horses.KingCharr wrote:TL:DR for the whole thread: Alliance /QQ because they have a mere TWO less mounts than the Horde. Apparently unhappy with the fact they can get four Horde mounts, whereas the Horde only get two Alliance mounts, they raise up a fuss, dragging the Mountain of Mounts achievement in, and the fact they're sick of the current mounts they have. Well, for one, the MoM achievement is achieveable on live, two mounts will NOT make a difference, and as for the current mounts you have you're sick of, as I've (and others) mentioned, you can get four Horde mounts. So, just be happy with the fact you even HAVE mounts, and don't have to walk everywhere, or take zepplins, boats and hippogrpyhs/wyverns. A normal and epic trike is not worth the fuss, you are making a mountain out of a molehill.

The only mount model that alliance is NOT getting, is the wolf. And I'm probably knocking wood by saying they will never get it. It's the trademark mount of the Horde and I'd like to keep it that way.
