I use the curse client directly on my computer. Did you try using that instead of the site itself directly?

He... sucks... to... find. On the bright side my guildie tamed him first when I found him.. or she found him.. yeah she did. Then 3 days later.. I found him! And there was no server reset so the timer could be pretty much really off.
It just takes alot of patience lol
Good luck.

I've seen him 5 times in the wild, just stumbling upon him by accident. However I'm sure if I actually dedicated myself to finding him I would have no luck whatsoever. >.< Just...keep looking I guess, he'll show up eventually.

Well make sure you downloaded the overlays too. I'm not sure if King Mosh is already in there but incase he isnt, follow these instructions to add him.bluddy wrote:npc-scan i downloaded it..how to use it?
Help > Interface > AddOns > NPCScan > Search
and enter the following...
NPC ID: 6584
NPC Name: King Mosh
World: Kalimdor
then hit the little + on the side of World and he'll be added in. :3

King Mosh is not included in the rares that NPCscan searches for, it defaults to scanning for NR and outland rares. You will have to add him manually.
Also, you can make a macro "/tar King Mosh " without the quotes and use that.
SilverDragon addon does include King Mosh, and will alert you if you find him.
Yes, King Mosh REALLY does have a 180-360 hour spawn timer. I have been unable to find any info to the contrary. By all means make a GM ticket asking for clarification, I'd LOVE to hear that this info was incorrect (he was killed on my realm on Wednesday).

Re: Tips needed to camp King Mosh!
Still camping Mosh here. I started back on Tuesday, figured maybe with the rolling restarts I'd get lucky.
I was coming down with a slight sore throat, so I left WoW up and took it easy. A couple times I fell asleep and got logged out.
Next day, I was horribly worse, fever, chills, feeling weak. I probably slept more on the couch, but I still checked wow between naps.
Finally feeling a bit better today, had Wow up and NPC scan running, still nothing.
Part of my camping strategy has been to occasionally (every 30-45 mins) declare my interest in general chat.
Sometimes I get kind whispers telling me the white devilsaur is over here, or the black one is over there. I thank them politely, and reiterate my intent to find the named rare.
I got one warlock demanding gold. Because yeah, a level 49 is gonna solo a 60 elite that hits like a BWL raid boss...
Got a 47 rogue telling me Mosh has a 16 *minute* spawn timer. Claimed he'd been playing since vanilla. Told me I should "try googling it." When I mentioned that my google search had led me to believe the spawn timer was significantly longer than 16 minutes, he called me a huntard. Then 5 minutes later claimed Mosh had spawned. Now, I have been parked on the spawn point all day, there are no other players in the zone over level 70. No way Mosh got killed. No corpse, no NPCscan alert. It didn't spawn.
I did help a few hunters who were looking for regular Devilsaurs though, so those cheered me up a bit.
My target macro includes all devilsaurs in the area, so if I see one, I just kill it. The theory is, eventually one will re-spawn as Mosh. Or, if I kill enough of his kin, he'll finally get ticked off and come face off against me. Well, I have 4 stacks of devilsaur leather, and no King Mosh in sight. Just watch, he'll spawn as soon as I fall asleep. And that'll be another WEEK gone.

Re: Tips needed to camp King Mosh!
Sounds possible the guy that posted his spawn time is 180-360 hours must have accidentally punched those zeros in. 18-36 hours sounds more reasonable but still long.

That doesn't make the information any less correct.kamoodle5 wrote:Sounds possible the guy that posted his spawn time is 180-360 hours must have accidentally punched those zeros in. 18-36 hours sounds more reasonable but still long.
He has one of the worst spawn timers in the game, if not THE worst. (TLPD notwithstanding.)
Good luck to those searching. Just remember, if someone else sees him (and it's legit), you have an approximate spawn timer!

Re: Tips needed to camp King Mosh!
Yes, that's far closer to my own experience. Back when I looked for him to tame him the first time I found him three times in 5 days. Mind you, I didn't have time to actually camp him, I just checked on him every couple of hours, so it's very likely that he spawned more often than that.kamoodle5 wrote:Sounds possible the guy that posted his spawn time is 180-360 hours must have accidentally punched those zeros in. 18-36 hours sounds more reasonable but still long.
I admit that I seem to have a lot of luck finding that guy (I've seen him many times without looking for him and when I tamed him the second time he was just there, waiting for me). But there's no way he has a 1-2 week respawn timer.
Also, he actually has several spawn points, three or four, but they're all in the small area between the Golakka Hot Springs and the "serpent head" (i.e. the lake near the exit to Silithus). He doesn't wander around, just walks up and down a bit where he spawns. While NPCScan is recomended, you can keep a good eye on this small area without it. You can ride around in it, or stand in the middle between the springs and the lake and cast Eagle Eye around. Be aware that you can't see him or anything in Ungoro from far away because it's so foggy.
Good luck! I'll try to put in a good word for you so that Mosh comes to you as easily as he comes to me.

Lok'tar ogar!

Re: Tips needed to camp King Mosh!
I was camping him on and off for about 6 or so months. I got him a few weeks ago right as I was about to do my usual fly by his spawn spots. I was utterly lucky. Best of luck, my friend. If you can get an idea as to when he was his last up time, that will most certainly up.

Re: Tips needed to camp King Mosh!
I have been camping him like crazy since Tuesday, and nothing.
I'm seriously starting to question my sanity.
Although... this morning I did tame Uhk'loc, so there's that.
I had tried to tame him once before, but he's so low level, and other gorillas attacked and interrupted the tame. Next thing I knew the other gorillas were dead... but so was Uhk'loc! Nooooooooo!
This time though, I got him, things went perfectly.

Re: Tips needed to camp King Mosh!
Apparently even a rare with no useful loot to speak of is not immune to the "Kill it because you can" crowd.
I have been informed by a druid in Un'Goro that they are looking for King Mosh. I asked which hunter in their party had been wanting to tame it?
"More for the epic kill" was the reply.
Thankfully, they seem to see reason though after I explained my long search. We'll see...
