The Search for Gondria [TAMED - Pics Included!]

I've decided that Gondria is my Most Want for Spirit Beasts. Skoll is a very close second. I'd be incredibly happy with either.

Gondria refuses to be found. I'm using npcscan and target macros, a combination of camping/circling spawn points. The WORST was the other morning when I got up early and I was circling around Zul'Drak. The npcscan went off. My heart was racing! I landed and clicked the target button...

Only to discover she was a tamed pet, not the free spirit Gondria. *HeadDesk*

I camped out one night until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.

I think she's avoiding me...

Very sweet of you! Congrats again on taming your Skoll! Hearing the success stories help keep the hope alive! As well as good wishes/thoughts from the fellow hunters who understand the pain. I don't think the hubby or the guildies quite get it...

Get SilverDragon to help you with that. It's like NPCscan, but it doesn't go off on tamed pets (unless they're in the zone they're normally found in, I believe), so you don't have to constantly clear out your cache.

Just stay vigilant and keep yourself occupied while you camp :3 You can always play WoW in windowed mode, and in the sound options, click it so you still hear the sound in the background. That way, you can even chat on here if you're bored while waiting for NPCscan and everything to go off ^_^

Always check by the oozey things in the mammoth place that's where I found him once. Good luck I hope you can get him. Keep trying

I was lucky enough to stumble across Gondria in the hills east of the Temple of Har'Koa, towards the Grizzly Hills border.

Persistence pays off in the end, you'll surely come across your coveted pet. It's really only a matter of being there at the right time.

I found my Gondria right by the steps in ZulDrak. In fact, that's the only spot I've ever heard of someone finding her. Not sure if someone said this, but NPC Scan has a seperate overlay addon that puts color on your regular and mini maps so you know where to look. When you pull up your fullsize map, it has a legend.

Your Gondria is my Skoll. Can't find him for the life of me.

What ever you do, don't give up! I spent 3 weeks in Zul'Drak, I would login and do laps and afk with the sound at max volume and I would ask about once every hour if there had been a sighting of Gondria. It took a long time, but I finally found my kitty cat one night when I was so tired...I had been writting a story about how my character was hoping this would be the night she finally found her spirit cat, and when I saw it had been about 10 minutes I went back to running laps. Just as I went to turn around and go back to the oozes I got this feeling to go check the steps..and there he was! I was so happy I quickly tamed him and finished writting my story..followed by a poem about him! Then I was so happy to get some sleep, I even had a dream about my spirit kitty that night.
Just do not give up, you will find him/her as soon as Harkoa sees you fit to enjoy one of her young's company.

In bed, couldn't sleep. Realized I hadn't eaten in a while. Got up, got some food. Figured I'd do some circles of ZD while I was up. Nothing happening. I got to thinking about what someone said, about Har'Koa and her being willing to let me find one of hers (paraphrase!). I'd always made sure to fly by Hark and let her know I was looking for Gondria (I know, weird, but anyway...)

I finally got around to finishing the quests up to the point where she's no longer in chains at her altar. I thought "Hey, maybe NOW I'll find the kitty kat..."

No such luck.

So then I figure, okay, Hark asked me to do MORE, right? So I'll just finish off that quest chain. I REFUSED to switch out of BM spec, just in case I stumbled across her. One less thing to worry about, right? And the last boss had me a tad worried. But a Warlock just happened to be at the same point, so we teamed. And the boss fight was over quickly. Hurray!

Still. No. Gondria.

Bummed, I decided to camp over by the GH cliffs, since I've read a lot of people had luck there. I just hit up/down now an then so my griffin and I didn't go AFK. I worked on some stuff at my desk. Nothing alt-tabbed out. I finally realized I had some unread mail. And I was getting sleepy. I figure, ZimTorga's gotta have a mailbox, right? So I go into ZimTorga and am too sleepy to look for the mailbox. I could have been standing on it and not found it. But I muster just enough strength to say "one more circle".

I fly straight toward the area near ZT where Gondria haunts...the alarm SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. My left hand started to shake. I knew there was a snow leopard nearby, but I positioned myself so that it shouldn't interfere. I set a freeze trap. I tried to stand in the trap (I left hand controls movement, and it's shaking pretty hard!) and finally succeeded. My heart was POUNDING in my chest. There was no thought of SLEEP at all! I fired a concussive shot and had the presence of mind to stop autoattack. Phew. Things going good...

WHERE IS MY TAME BEAST BUTTON?! Don't I have it in the hotbar? %$%&#!!!

(Yes, it IS in the hotbar, I was just too freaked out)

Spellbook open. Gondria is frozen. I can HEAR my heart. I'm watching the bar AGONIZINGLY SLOWLY tick down.

Remember that snow leopard? Guess who came to play! But that's all right. Gondria, now MINE (!!!!!!!) took care of the jealous kitty.

YAY!!! Big congrats to you! I'm only level 72 right now but at 75 I have every intent on going after Krush (with some friends and pre-tame preparations, of course). Your story is inspiring in that it reminds me to not give up, even when I feel like Blizzard really does, truly, completely and utterly hate me. (lol )
