Mearras Taming Rare Travels!
It's the 2nd week of my attempts to find Loque'Nahak. My efforts have so far been in vain. The only joys I've had within the basin have been watching a few new found companions find their target tame and congratulating them on it, even if one of them tamed Loque in a location I had just passed over a few moments before. She was a kind hunter, so I was happy for her and hoped my turn would soon follow. Novikova whom I'd met during my endless hours within the basin finally tamed Krush a day after watching it being tamed by a kind male BE hunter. Another huntress whom I had had brief chats with found her parrot as well.
One of those nights, my heart rushed as the BAM sound of my SilverDragon alerted me to Loque's presence. Only for my heart to sink as I realized it was his corpse, with a sad sigh I skinned his fine hide to prevent the same heart crushing alert to happen to the next hunter, and to waste not what not. The blue cape I received from the skin I decided would be a reward for someone not to kill him for a blue, I would give them that one instead along with another I had in my bags.
Another time I had been searching for a few hours, only for my boyfriend to get home from work. I had already cleaned the house top to bottom but there was one thing I couldn't avoid or schedule between spawn timers...the man needed to be fed. So as I stepped away from the computer to make dinner...the 15-30 minutes while I was away...Loque stepped out of his hiding place to be tamed by someone else, right under my nose.
I search at various hours, early mornings, late night, mid day...it doesn't matter. The few times I could get a baseline for a timer were great, Novi often being the provider of the information, while some other hunters were reluctant to share and I was off to search in the dark. While other times I merely assumed he was either killed alliance side to which no one admits or the culprit has left, or he was killed/tamed horde side, therefore the information would not be available to me. Two of the days of searching were wrought with constant annoying dc's, much to my aggravation.
A kind married couple (that play hunters) attempted to help me in my search for an hour or so since one was semi afk and the other was leveling her newest pet while farming leather. A mage friend and a few druid friends would randomly come out to help for awhile here and there..but still...no success.
Once I did get a happy surprise after missing him once again, I took a deep breath and headed to Grizzly Hills to check for Arcturius spawn, but as I flew over Zul'Drak SilverDragon BAM'd in my ear. Gondria was there waiting below me with no other hunter in sight, a quick easy tame and 'Osiris' was now mine.
Loque's avoidance of me has only made me more determined...though for now I need a breather and a break from the basin.
Later..the search will continue..and hopefully then he will appear for me to tame.

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
Note: If anyone knows the rarespawn timers for my server, I would be mucho happy!
Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
Sad story
I'm on the same boat until this very morning.
Four months ago, I searched all four spirit beasts spawn zone almost 2 times a day (in early morning and late at night), but my effort mostly was in vain.
Until 2 months ago my NPC scanner yelled at me when at pass Gondria's spawn zone, which her being the first spirit beast I ever have.
Many searching was done after that, but no trace for any of the rest so I gave up until this very morning.
I used my engineer wormhole to get to Scholazar Basin quickly because I'm bored and dont have anything else to do, so I figure a trip to check Loque wouldnt hurt. I searched all of his spawn spots save for the one on the top north, and was disappointed. I almost hearthed back to dalaran until i opened my map and saw 1 spot i didnt check, so i flew up there. To my suprise, HE WAS RIGHT THERE
I quickly abadoned my newly tame wasp, and grab him asap!
So keep trying, and dont give up!

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
I'm hoping I'll have a 'go by and luck out' moment at this point, because scouting for hours just isn't panning out.
Right now I'm relaxing from all that scouting about by just camping Skolls spawn point while reading a book. I might move back to Sholazar again later.
Is there only one northern spawn point for Loque or two? Some data sources only show one, but on my rare spawn overlay it shows two. I'm not sure if the NW one is verified or not. Do you or anyone else know?

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
Well I've seen Loque on my server and got extremely lucky when I found him today. (I made a topic about it)
Best place to park thy booty is in the gorilla areas. he tends to lurk there a lot. I found mine at 1:02pm on moon guard. I dont know anything about Feathermoon. D:

I wish I had more current times for you.
I'll peek into the basin now and then to be sure. We'll get him for you yet.

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
There are 2 Northern spawn points; one next to the white Matriarch, the other just north of Shango, over the river. Where one of the Neutral mammoths wanders around by itself. I've heard of hunters taming him there and people killing him in that location, but it's one that's easily overlooked.

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
Thank you so much for the verification on the spawn point Calomel. I only started checking it recently because of downloading rarespawn overlay and seeing it on its map highlights. I'll be checking it more now.
I'll go read your topic Taluwen
, grats on the tame. And yes Novi, we will...we will....perhaps we just have the wrong brand of catnip.
But for my good news of the day, as of 9:35 pm Feathermoon server time Skoll's timer has been reset. Since my last post I've had my hunter camped at the Brunnhildar spawn point while I was reading a book. Then I decided it was time to go check out Sholazar again, but not before checking out his other spawn points.....and low and behold, he was there waiting to be tamed. A quick landing where I could position myself so the worms wouldn't interrupt me and a quick "Shush!" to those who darted over to my computer wondering why I gasped, and he was tamed.

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
Oh yes I did read your post on your tame Taluwen, I just wasn't registered at the time and too shy to post. It was only after I met Novi in game that I finally registered and got over the shyness.
I was so happy you got a great pick me up after such a bad day and terrible news. -comforts and hugs- It was definitely needed and you deserved Loque. My condolences in regards to everything else though.

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
I am beside myself with happiness!
At 11:54pm, while casually talking to someone who wished to join our guild (I'm an officer), interviewing her and the like, I was non chalantly flying around Sholazar, doing my rounds but not having too much hope.....but something seemed different about the gorilla patch. (71.4, 69.2) My eyes went wide, my chest tensed...is it the small amount of alcohol I consumed or had he finally come out of hiding for me? Were my eyes deceiving me? Or were my efforts finally rewarded! SilverDragon confirmed it, I was not delusional!
I quickly looked around for other hunters since earlier in this spot I knew a horde hunter had her warlock (I'm assuming dual account or a friend because he's always there when she is, and not moving from the location while on his magic carpet) perched over this location to keep an eye out...the lock wasn't there, nor was Kilili the BE hunter on a celestial steed.
A feeling of joy started to climb through me as I concussived to tag, esc, drop trap while he jumps straight into it and the tame went smoothly. A squeal of joy was heard by my friend on my couch (he's playing black ops) as well as everyone he had on voice chat....and my boyfriend rushed over "Did you finally get him???" "YES!!! OMG YES YES FInally YES!!! TWO WEEKS!!!!!!"
So now I'm 3/4 of the spirit beasts. Arcturis is left, I am not going after him tonight because I know who will be waiting for him, and I feel bad that he lost the tame to a jerk hunter (who happened to be horde so he couldn't tell him off) that killed him while he was mid tame. But after that...he will be my next quest for spirit pets.
Between his spawn times I might check for King Krush and Aotona as well, but I will not be torturing myself this hard again. Since it seems all my tames happened more when I was casually going by rather then when I was torturing myself to keep my eyes open for hours scouting. (Of course I say this...but...who knows.)
Perhaps I will name him Eternity, because thats how long it felt it took to find him.
ps. Novi, I was looking for you to share my joy!! But you had logged off for the night already

Thank Youuuuu
You guys were right regarding the gorilla locations being the best places. Meanwhile I used to love the North point just because it was a nice view of everything around.

hahaha. The Northern one where you are by the water. Maybe he was getting thirsty and needed a drink before he went banana's.

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
He probably was. Probably was protecting the basin and he's surrounded by apes! Has a headache and needed a drink. Heard the water got a little tipsy due to a dwarf breaking his barrel in the river so he wanted a little drink. XD
Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
Congratulations, Mearra! \o/ I'm glad you finally got him. Loque'nahak only showed up for Tahlian after I had given up all hope of ever finding him. Ironically enough, I found him with the gorillas right near where you ran across me after I got King Krush.
I guess that general area must be a lucky spot for me.

Re: Mearras Sholazar Travels
Oooo Grats to Tahlian on getting him as well
Yep you missed it, but I celebrated enough for the both of us, many happy dances and squeals.
So Arcturis next, and for some reason last night after scrounging up one of my friends lower level alts, we were attempting to get the oil covered wolf. Which is not working out so well. She and I tried for awhile, then another friend came down on his hunter alt to try and we were sitting there going "oooo sooo close!" but failing repetitively. There must be something we're missing in the calculations.
We may try again later tonight after my computer gets put back together. (Getting a new tower and headset.)
