Still Works + Critter Aggro

Dunno if anyone has posted it yet. I've almost finished my taming spree now that the patch is finally live. The last on my list was the Oil-Stained Worg I had abandoned earlier for Krush. I'm proud to tell ya it still works! It was much harder then before however; my tame was only 8 seconds now. You dont even have to use freezing trap. What I did (and it took me so many trys to get it right!) is you run right up to the wolf so he is smacking you in the face. Get your tame ready, throw the meat at him and quick hit the tame. You don't want to be too quick! If it's too quick, the tame will finish too soon. If it's too slow, he will vanish. Several times I actually finished taming right when he vanished, but when I resummoned he didn't have the oil.

After quite a few trys, I watched the wolf vanish and sighed. Ran over to the next wolf to try, but when I attempted to tame it said I had a pet already. 0.o I tried to call my pet, but then it said I didnt have any....so I flew over to the Stable Master, stabled the wolf that showed up in my active slot, then put it back in my slots. Called it, and lo and behold, he had the oil coat! Good luck to anyone who wants to tame him again. Just wanted to post this so people knew, if they didn't already.

Edit : On a side note, I just realized that if my pet is on aggressive, he hunts down and kills any critter in range. 0.o Seems to work for all my pets, just tested it out.

Yeah it was already mentioned that it worked after the patch, but it's great to have a detailed account of how it worked. Congrats on the tame, and thanks for figuring it out!

I can confirm it can be tamed in 4.0.1.

I copied the tactic and this is how i did it:

1. Thanks to Krynda (Eonar) for helping me.
2. Friend cast bait to wolf.
3. Wolf runs towards him.
4. Pauses on way.. I counted "1 and..." (just under 2 secs)
5. Cast tame beast.
6. Cast finished and pet was NOT in call box. (I went to tame a second try and was told i had an active summon)
7. Went to stable master in vallience keep - wolf was in there and could be summoned.
8. Arrived oily, and aggressive!
