Mearras Taming Rare Travels!

*chuckle* Oh, Tahl has had his Tsorovan for a good while now. These days, if I'm flying over Sholazar and see Loque'nahak, I just try and find him a good home with someone who will value him as much as I do. When I did find him, I had just completely given up on ever getting him and took a spin around the Basin one morning before work just to mine for saronite to put on the AH - and there he was, waiting for me by the gorilla family nearest the wasps.

Another good day, today I decided I'd go farm some leather while leveling a pet....if Aotona or Krush wanted to meet me, so be it!

So as I am leveling Cerberus the core hound in case I ever need to bring Heroism anywhere, the men announce they were getting hungry (BF and my friend who is still on my couch playing Black Ops), so I stepped away from the computer to start some boiling water for spaghetti, prep some vegetables and chop up some things for a sauce.
While the water was boiling I walked back to my computer only to see a whisper from a MissBliss[Druid] asking if I am looking for Aotona, Oh yes, yes I am.... "She's up, Hurry! -party invite-".
I was so happy to tame her, the fact I actually have 3 parrots IRL may contribute to my smile as I tamed my first bird in game, who I named Bliss after the kind druid who helped me locate her to tame her.

Now if I can only track the druidess down so I can hand her the gear I crafted for her as a thank you. Might as well put that leather to use right .

Alright, so today while reading the "Tales of the initiate's" thread on these forums, I had Mearra parked by Arcturis' spawn point. I was the first hunter to arrive, one or two came by, saw I was already parked and left, one wished me goodluck as well. I had to take a brief bio..and I might have taken a sec to Windex the mirror. I came back to see another hunter (night elf by the name of Tinkrbella)...parked on her netherwing mount in front of me, making her presence very well known compared to mine. I sighed....this means I'm going to have to do a 'tag off', and I hoped she wouldn't be the type to kill him if I tagged first.

Thankfully I have dual screens, so as I sat there in Grizzly Hills, my eyes could glance to the side reading the forums then back again, preventing boredom and the like. I heard a BANG from my SilverDragon, my eyes dart back to the main monitor, he's on top of me! I smash buttons trying to hit my concussive, he's too close!!! I default to smacking him in the face with my weapon, quickly Esc off, drop trap, target back, tame! I was shaking, terrified she'd try to kill him while taming...but she wasn't moving...not even to turn to watch. The tame finishes, completes, hands shaking I tell in general that his timers reset (I always do this for any other hunters around). Hands still shaking, having a hard time feeding him as I head back to town. I get a tell "grtz, I was in the bathroom".....I go to reply, she's logged off, and all I can think of is "Thank you for being human and needing to take a bio" while in the back of my mind I'm wondering what she would have done if she wasn't afk.
Either way I think I had a minor jump since I was already landed, certain I had no other pet out, etc. But who knows...who...knows.
But now I can finally go get the tea I started to make in the kitchen awhile ago.

Krush is still on the loose.....but his time will come.

The past few days have been up and down during my hunt for Krush, though I have made a few hunter friends in my travels, and one new acquaintance on horde side. The latest two alliance were Tarress and Samiya.
For the horde..I met him by shattering his heart, by no means to either! I had just logged in, not thinking of where I was...Loque was my active pet and out. I was talking on vent and reading some of http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/ posts and then I turned to my screen and saw a troll hunter infront of me, one I'd seen many times in my numerous hunts for tames in Sholazar....it dawned on me, I'm in Sholazar...with Loque out, I'm...a horrible person!!!!! The hunter sighed at me, patted Loque and then used some contraption to port himself out. I panicked!!! I don't have a single horde toon on Feathermoon, I'm 10/10 alliance! My only horde are on KilJaeden and Auchindoun (at least any of decent level, including an 80 boomchicken). I had no way to tell the guy he can come back, Loque could still be out there!
Before he left I tried numerous emotes to convince him to stay, but it didn't go through, he probably thought I was mocking him!
I called out on vent asking if a friend had a horde toon to go tell the horde hunter what happened, thankfully one could, did, and everything was solved. (If all else failed I was going to see if Tahlian was on the forums )

Tarress I met when I flew into the Basin one night at 1 am to check for Krush's spawn, she was kind enough to ask me my spec and if I was looking for Loque, I replied no, I had him, so no worries (thinking she was looking for him and checking competition). Alas, she was not, she was being kind and trying to find a hunter that needed him since he had spawned and she was watching over him. We were the only hunters in the Basin, both of us had Loque, every hunter we asked didn't care for him or had him already, any friends I had who wanted him were tucked in for the night. We partied, I hearthed while she watched over him and I went looking for a hunter in Dalaran/Trade, no responses, I started to get sad....finally a warrior whispered and it turned out he'd been looking for him on his hunter for a long time now. Next thing, we've shown him the location and he had Loque . Of course duri.ng all this my ventrilo friends were sighing wondering why I bother helping people, but none of them play a hunter, one of them has deleted hunters he'd leveled to 80 TWICE because he just doesn't care for the class, so they wouldn't understand. Nor did they understand when I helped her attune and get into MC so she could tame herself a core hound.

Samiya, she's looking for Loque, but she was not on that night. The day I met her and she was looking for him, asked about him in trade, only to get a response awhile later from a guy from <Chaos> telling her where we could go to skin him, since he killed him. She was sad, and I became frustrated. I get it..he wanted his achievement points and blue over letting her tame it even though she's been out there awhile and since she's been of level to tame him...but whatever. So I sighed, talked to her, showed her all his spawn locations since she didn't know all of them and told her which addons to try. Of course someone had Loque out there and messed with her npc scan, but Novikova helped her fix that . The best way to avoid it happening to her again is for her to be prepared.

During all this time I'd been looking for Krush, my last basin tame (....okay so I might go back for Shango.....but that's easy). No luck there...until today.
As I was chatting away and once again...reading the blog on the side, I'd almost given up and decided it was time to shower and call my apartments building manager about how my key no longer works on the gym door so I need a new one. When there he was...at his northern spawn point....no one else around!!!! Earlier I'd seen a warrior camped there...probably wanting to kill him for an achieve, but it seemed he'd vanished.

So out came my 'trash' pet rhino, beasted, ditched n tamed him. (I was terrified I'd summon one of my spirit beasts instead when I hit the macro for ditching..but I'd checked like 3 times that when I'd land the rhino would come out, so we were good).
Now to think of a name...which I will do while killing things in Storm Peaks and keeping an eye for Novikova's Skoll.

*chuckle* Congrats on the tame. Sadly, if I'm around here a great deal, I'm probably not in the game actively. I've been trying not to leave the forums open while in-game so I don't absent-mindedly alt-tab out to read while on a flight path and come back to game to find myself disconnected.

I'm usually around in-game after 2PM Central time, though...I just haven't been on Tahlian much since the Rak'shiri debacle started. If you do need to get hold of me, you could always try looking for one of the members of The Cartographic Society, my guild, and see if they know where I am.

I'll start keeping an eye out for Skoll myself...just in case...since I have a lowbie Alliance druid I can swap to in an emergency for "OMG he's up!" whispers.

My rogue used to be horde, well no..that's not accurate. I used to have two rogues on Feathermoon, one alliance, one horde. But I had every class but a warrior, so I decided it was time to make one. To do so, I had to delete a toon, my horde rogue was only about lvl 40, so she was deleted and replaced by an alliance warrior of the same name (The point of leveling alliance was to level with a friend of mine).

I kind of regret it when it comes to times where I want to speak with some hordies, that and I love a lot of the horde lore and quest lines. But oh well...I used to be friends with the leader of the B Plus Team, she had alts in one of my guilds, but that was ages ago(BC). I wish they'd up the toon cap, I'd transfer my horde boomkin over to Feathermoon then.

Rak'Shiri debacle? Ah the skin changes, I hadn't tamed Rak'Shiri yet. I have the frost saber pride watcher and the white lion, a friend got Rak'shiri while I tamed the others. I was going to head back for him soon too.

Edit: Just went and got Shy'Rotam, if anyone needs someone with the quest still on Feathermoon, just let me know.

Aw, thanks. I still poke around and camp for Skoll now and then, but I consider myself pretty lucky all things considered. Lots of good pets even without rare camping.

Alright, so these may not seem so epic for others, but here they are.

Seeing that Cata is around the corner, my raid groups on my main server have been on a break for awhile. We'd done all content, even on numerous toons...so..we were relaxing.

So for fun, we decided to make some random toons on some pvp servers. We'd done this before (Hence why I have a lvl 80 boomkin and lvl 75~ DK on Kil'Jaeden on Horde side), but this time we decided to pick a low pop server rather than one that was packed to the brims. So we made some horde toons on Auchindoun, a very low pop server.
I rolled both a Hunter(Epona) and Priest(Daeva), seeing they are some of my favorite classes, among other reasons.

My Auchindoun horde toon is lvl 39 (as of this minute, probably higher by the time you read this), her first pet of course is the red cat, which I named Nanaki. She's tamed the white fox since I've yet to brave Loch Modan for Ashtail on a pvp server when I am a lowbie.
But for the rare aspect, today...she lucked out.

I was doing a few randoms since after working on her professions for a couple days, I needed a break. I was going to start heading to Feralas to mine some ore, do some quests and possibly try for a sprite darter pet. I was with a group that worked well together and were requeuing (I and the tank continued after some dwindled out).
As I was running along the barrens, heading to Ratchet to get rid of the junk that had accumulated in my bags.....I spotted Takk!
The tank had gone afk for a quick bio (so quick I honestly thought he'd peed in a trash can next to his desk..but whatever) and the group was requeing. I quickly tamed him and cheered. Then as I loaded in the instance, I seized, "OMG I forgot to check for the nest!!!!" I wasn't going to have the group wait up while I ported in and out, so I did the instance as smoothly as I could. Came out, ran to check where I tamed him and WOOT!! The nest was still there.

Grinning with glee at my luck, I continued down to ratchet, the tank need to go and I took it as a sign to continue on my journey. As I ran by Humar's tree I thought "hmmmm lets give it a check" and as I scanned over, SilverDragon dinged and BAM there he was, sleeping in the shade of his tree.

I rushed to Ratchet to put my pets away, made my way back and tamed. (Yay, now I have 2 Humars ^^)

Thankfully there were no other hunters or an Alliance in site to kill me. >.< Yay for low population . I wonder how Sholazar will be for her. But by then everyone will be in Cata zones. So I should be safe....

So as for Cataclysm, I had my eye on a few new pets. I reluctancly let go of a few of my old pets, those I did not have too much of an attachment to and were more for "covering every situation/buff" possible to prove that we hunters are not useless.

I didn't want to spread myself too thin, so my first few goals were Karoma, Sambas and Ghostcrawler. I'd been spending a few days checking out the points, but my main focus in Cata has been my priestess since she has a raid that wanted to start ASAP (Galedria<Nocturnal>). So I speed lvld her, got her geared, make sure her daily heroics are done, her professions are maxed, etc etc. But whenever I could, I'd log on Mearra, gain some levels, check out spawn points. At 85, I could park her where I planned, scan points, feel out to see if I could find out some timers, with some help from Novikova, chatting while she camped Maddexx and while I flew from spawn point to spawn point.

A few days ago, after this little ritual was draining me, I decided to have a short nap, I was tired, but refused to go to bed too early for the full night. I took a 45 minute nap, having logged out by GC's spawn zone. After groggily getting back up, grabbing a cup of coffee and logging in. BAM, there he was, he walked near me, was kind, and never once ghosted. Giving me time to land, dismiss, and tame without any issue.

Today, I did my usual ritual of checking points, then prepping priestess for raid, raiding, then switching back to hunter to check points. I was going to head to Sambas's NE point first, but then thought "No, I'll head West to check Karomas western points then go along the north, go east then do the little circle in the center before heading to bed."
As I headed there, something caught my eye, SilverDragon confirmed, there was Karoma, walking around alone. I land, I dismiss, and voila tamed without a hitch.

Alright Sambas, now I can focus on you.

After that..hmmm Maddexx? Terrorpene?

It's been a few weeks now and alas, no Sambas.
I was on just before my priests raid looking for him, then logged to get onto my priest, fish a bit then go to raid. As I get to the highlands with my priestess, a hunter announces the tame. Heartbroken, though happy for the polite hunter that announced their tame (8:50pm FM server time), I noted the time and that in 6 hours (two hours after my raid would be over), I could check for him again.
So there I was waiting for him, checking points, no luck. A friend tells me Jadefang is up!
I don't have the daily, but he opts to bring his lvl 80 druid to die for me. So he, myself and another friend go there (we summon him over).
He successfully gets to the pad, we get him to the ledge, go to tame, issues...other hunters trying to bugger me. I sigh, figure out the right way to get a trap up there to tame, but no, just as we go to get him there, an orc warrior logs in within the cavern and kills Jadefang (This was at 3:40am FM server time).
Broken hearted again :/

My annoyance with lack of hunter etiquette lately....
If a rarespawn has 5 spawn points, 2 of which are being camped, three of which are not...please pick one of the non occupied ones for your camping.

Do not camp on top of another hunter if there are other places to go, it is just rude.

Today, "J"(Horde) and "B"(Alliance) both felt like camping ontop of me. (Edited names into nicknames)
I was there prior, for quite some time, and rather than them going to the other points, they sat on me.
Novikova was at another spawn point, which they occasionally went to, but then would return and sit on me.
3 other spawn points that were free, but no...they come to those two (mostly to mine) to sit.

The horde troll liked to run around me in circles and at one point tried to pvp taunt Novi, as well as flash her with a Karoma..named Karoma while he was PVP flagged.
The alliance draenei, well I've seen him a few times. He likes to do the 'hovering above on his mount' technique, just where he thinks you can't see him (like behind a tree).
I'm hoping these are nice people otherwise, I really am, and maybe I'm misinterpretting things. But....alas.

Sambas...you are breaking my heart...and these strains are not helping.

Sambas and I have finally found eachother.

After last nights long haul with Novi, upsetting my boyfriend as I snuck into bed at 5 am, having camped out there this morning then giving up for a bit......we found eachother.

I had most of the morning, then a friend logged on who was camping him as well (though he camps at different points and queues for dungeons)..At this point I decided it was time for some food, shower and to clean up the house a little bit while letting him have his spawn point and mine...

After doing all of the above, feeling refreshed I logged back on, sending him a tell to see if he had any luck. No reply, he was afk. I sighed and went to fly north to check the other spawn points just as I get a message that my friend was now offline. Flying away from my prefered point, figuring at this point I can leave it to my friend if he logs back on and go do something else....something catches my eye, a red dot on myminimap where there is usually none..other than faded ones from spiders.

I go to check hoping that this time it isn't just another horde pet. Then my heart jumps, the name is right...but is it that hordie again with rare pets named after the rare they were prior, I target, no, it's real, it's real!!!

I dropped down, no other hunter in sight, and a smooth tame followed .

Very happy..
Now to think of a name...which you think I would have been doing all that time waiting out there..

That is true, sometimes I think I'm just being presumptuous and messing up my luck, unless I definitely knew way ahead of time what the name would be.
Ever since I saw terrorpene I knew the name for him (Bowser, which I've now seen another hunter using..but thats okay, we're on different server).
But for now it's Novi's turn for him, so I'll focus on Jadefang.
