Pre-Cata Game Plans
Pre-Cata Game Plans
Are you working on trying to complete a couple of Achievements? Are you working to get in good with certain factions? Are you trying to level up a skill you haven't touched since BC came out? Are you stalking some pet or mount to pass the time? Are you trying to get the best armour available? Or..are you just doing nothing?
Me...I'm trying to get in good with the Argent Tournament people so I can get a faithful sl..squire to follow me around and hold my stuff on my tauren while leveling my NE to 80.
So..what are you doing?

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans
The Elite Taming Cadre (13 hunters covering every pet level from 5 to 80) is on hold right now, but I started a character to collect low level gray armor. Did you know that the level 1-5 mail armor is a very attractive blue?
On a similar note, I've been doing Love is in the Air dailies and the Lunar Festival stuff to make sure that I have all the dresses and suits on each character that I want to have them. Well, really, just once for LiitA since those clothes don't bind, and a whole annoying bunch for the Lunar Festival since most of those do.
I've also been lackadaisically doing Argent Tournament dailies when the mood strikes me. I completed all the dailies every day for so many moths that I really, really hate them now. But I still need a couple of mounts and two mini-pets, and it would be great to get some heirloom stuff after that.
I'm really just futzing around. I hope the beta starts soon because otherwise I may get involved with something and burn up all my WoW energy in an untimely fashion.

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans

Right now I'm loving being on the Nesingwary server with all the fellow Petopians here. It's really renewed my interest in levelling characters since it's no longer a dull, solitary venture. Having a group of awesome people to chat to and have fun with truly makes a difference. I love our silly Guild Events, and it's great going on group taming adventures and having others who understand the passion for pets. ^^
Having transferred my main over there, it's also a relaxing change of pace from the PvP server that I 'grew up' on. I loved every minute of it, don't get me wrong, and I would not have liked levelling on a PvE realm for the first time. Having had my fill of it, though, I like to think of Nesingwary as my 'retirement realm'. I can level my alts in peace without worry of being ganked or interrupted, and overall I've found a much more friendly community.
I'm planning on moving a couple of my other characters from my old server in time, and Nesingwary is definitely my new main realm.
I'm really excited for Cataclysm, and I can't wait to play a Goblin and try out a Worgen. The hunter mana change is going to be phenomenal, and of course I'm jumping out of my seat at the thought of all the new pets we can look forward to.
Overall I'm a little antsy for the expansion, but truthfully I have plenty of things to keep me busy in the meantime.

I read that as alcoholic. I totally did, and I had to reread the whole sentence before realizing... "Oh..."Vephriel wrote:I'm almost never bored in the game since I'm a terminal altoholic.

Other than that I've been saving up my argent tourny tokens for heriloom gear if I make a goblin when the time comes. =)

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans
My DK is parked in the Storm Peaks, still don't have that polar bear mount.... but at least I get a lot of frost lotus farming done.
My pala is tanking hc's when i feel up for it, and working to get all the pure +stat gems via JC dailies. I just ignore the ones with stats they're removing anyway.
Yep, plenty to do indeed

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans
Right now I'm having fun raising yet another troll hunter in Petopian's and taking the advice of a blog I read, trying to raise as much gold I can to prepare for Cata. And it's kind of a "remember when" sight seeing venture before all the areas change. And I still haven't gotten the bear or an Oracle proto-drake yet!
I want a Goblin hunter and will even probably start a Worgen in the Petopian Alliance guild when the time comes.
Can we sign up for the Beta "lottery" yet?

You could always farm ears in Borean for CE rep if that's the hippogryph you're after. That's what I did. :]Harpier wrote:Bumming around, trying to get my Argent Hippogryph since everyone on my server is to lame to take a level 80 through Slave Pens/Underbog/etc for rep. :[

The one I want is the Silver Covenant Hippogryph, which I will never get on Mania. (Wrong faction.) *grumble*

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans
- get the Loremaster title on both Nanyana and Subira
- finish all the rep grinds in Outland on Nanyana <.< (Skyguard almost exalted, Sporeggar still at Honored...)
- level my Mage to 80 and hope to find the interest to level my Rogue too. Subira should also reach 80 by then

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans
I've got names for my goblin and worgon alt (to see the new areas). I would more likely race swap my hunter to goblin or undead (eventually) if I really like him.
I'm giving up playing wow for Lent, so nows a real good season for just hanging back and resting. Cata is sure to suck us back in hardcore so its best to pace yourself or find other things to do during the interim.
TIP: letting wow go for a little while will actually speed up time and allow for Cata to come that much faster! Wooo!

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans
Aside from agonizing over mounts, I'm collecting better gear, trying to complete the Loremaster title, and levelling my level 30 warlock. I have a name saved for my Worgen, and if I have the time or inclination I'll be farming some gold and mats for him on my draenei.
And in case you should wonder, and in case you should care...on that night of all nights, we were already there.

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans
As for me, my main(BM hunter) is raiding ICC(80-odd badges until I don't need badges anymore, or anything out of ICC10 at all barring LK drops) and wrapping up a few old rep grinds... ZG should finish tomorrow. My feral kitty is gearing up in ICC too, though she's a little behind of course. I've got 3(soon to be 4) other 80s that I plan to get in basically all T9-level gear at least, so they'll have it easy leveling in Cat, and I've got two names reserved for Worgen characters, as well as 26k gold set aside for whatever may crop up as worthwhile and expensive. Once race change to Worgen is opened up my hunter's definitely gonna go Worgen.

Re: Pre-Cata Game Plans

Well, most of the time I spend helping guildies and friends with group quests, and low level dungeon run thrus for their multitudes of alts... My other main is a feral druid (bear spec) and a good friend of mine insists on calling me "mama bear", haha.
I run a random every day for the two frost emblems, and I've already saved up enough to buy myself the cloak and belt, both of which are very nice.
Been on a taming spree, but think I've finally found the perfect pet for me right now, as you can see from my awesome new sig. <3
I raid if I get the chance to, or go on Ashen Verdict rep runs... all pugged, though, or with a couple people I'm friends with from other guilds.
Also been toying with the idea of seriously leveling my night elf hunter on Nesingwary, for the SOLE purpose of taming a cat that looks like the winterspring frostsaber mount, and then doing the actual grind for the mount itself. I just think it's a beautiful cat. ^_^
Still not sure how I'll feel about the whole hunter revamp in cata, but I have made Jakkra my main since leveling her to 80, so I'll definitely be sticking with her, and hopefully the new focus system will work out well for me.
