Worgen race change mount question
Worgen race change mount question
First I dont want this to become a "Whos got more mounts" thing like most threads do. Im just curious of one thing
Say im playing a lv 30 night elf who loves all 4 riding cat skins so he has them all. Say he Race changes into a Worgen. Does he loose all his mounts, and if he does what happens if at lv 60 he wants to be a human and race changes into a human. Does he get those mounts he lost back again?

Re: Worgen race change mount question
Man. i really have no idea. maybe because of the running wild effect probably counts as one mount you will still have the cat mounts, or some of them, try asking blizz.
Lots of thanks for TygerDarkstorm for the awesome sig!! =D

Re: Worgen race change mount question
I put in a GM ticket asking this about switching to a Goblin and what happens to the Argent Tourney mounts etc (since Goblins do not have any Argent Tourney mounts)
I got a automated response saying that they will not entertain questions about Catacylsm right now

You'll unfortunately just have to wait and see

Re: Worgen race change mount question
I'm pretty sure your mounts will stay the same.
Re: Worgen race change mount question
I'm hoping for my New Goblin to be able to ride the Darnassian Nightsaber myself...Taluwen wrote:I'm pretty sure your mounts will stay the same.

Re: Worgen race change mount question
I really don't know what will happens when we will be able to race change to worgens, with our already race/faction specific obtained mounts, but i found some links of Blizzard's official posters.
"Running Wild is indeed the new racial "mount" for worgen. Functionally the ability works exactly like a mount. This does mean the worgen are not bringing faction mounts to the table which other Alliance races can access. This is also of course very different from the original Plainsrunning implemented for taurens. We have no plans to try and bring that ability back in any form.
Ultimately, we feel Running Wild fits very well with the nature of the worgen race. Rather than getting a physical mount, they get down and sprint on all fours. When you're playing a worgen, it just feels awesome.

"This isn't a matter of saving time. The animations still had to be made in order to make this feel cool.
It's a matter of preference and creating an immersive gameplay experience. Giving the worgen a distinct creature to ride just didn't feel right, but they can still ride other mounts if they meet the criteria. Right now we're okay with the fact that this particular race is different when it comes to mounts. We feel that makes it interesting, even if the Alliance gets less racial mounts as a result. There are plenty of mounts out there and we can always add more.

If you care to read about all the replies there, you may notice that there are some hints about a possibility of some sort "mount" for worgens anyway (Just to chime in given the tone of the debate here, I do not think your concerns are trivial and appreciate you raising them in a constructive manner.
We're listening. That's all I can say.
Where all my honey gone? Pooh bear be cryin'... http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... eNo=22#439 ).After all due to one hundred mounts achievement the guys at Blizzard decided to offer at Horde players a comparative to "Winterspring Frostsaber" mount, the "Venomhide Ravasaur".So i don't believe they will let Horde be able to obtain Goblin race mounts when Alliance won't be able to obtain worgen ones. This will creates the same argument that was raging years till Burning Crusade, first and Wrath of the Lich King, later tried to fix (am talking about the imbalance between Alliance/Horde).With these two expansions we got Paladin/Shaman for both factions and equal amount of mounts available for both.I honestly believe that Blizzard don't want to reopen this argument again, not if they can avoid it.
Anyway, back to original question, only time will show if we get new or keep original obtained mounts due race change to worgen and also if we'll get back the faction/race specific mounts when we re-change from worgen to something else.So my best advice about this,is wait a bit before decide to race change,at least this is what i will do for my night elf rogue that i created just to turn him to worgen with Cataclysm. When Cataclysm goes live and maybe a patch (which is most certain) will occurs within first week,we'll know a bit more about worgen and their mounts or the lack of them.

Re: Worgen race change mount question
The Goblins have an Argent tabard (http://cata.wowhead.com/item=67268) so I assume they'll be getting Argent mounts as well.Royi wrote:I put in a GM ticket asking this about switching to a Goblin and what happens to the Argent Tourney mounts etc (since Goblins do not have any Argent Tourney mounts)

Re: Worgen race change mount question
Thats a completely different tabard to the ones from the Argent Tourney event in Icecrown.Feath3r wrote:The Goblins have an Argent tabard (http://cata.wowhead.com/item=67268) so I assume they'll be getting Argent mounts as well.Royi wrote:I put in a GM ticket asking this about switching to a Goblin and what happens to the Argent Tourney mounts etc (since Goblins do not have any Argent Tourney mounts)

Re: Worgen race change mount question
Did I link the wrong one? Sorry >> I just got up, but if you check through http://cata.wowhead.com/search?q=tabard it looks like there are two tabards for each race. One is the argent tabard and the other is, I assume, the race tabards from the city quartermasters.Royi wrote:Thats a completely different tabard to the ones from the Argent Tourney event in Icecrown.Feath3r wrote:The Goblins have an Argent tabard (http://cata.wowhead.com/item=67268) so I assume they'll be getting Argent mounts as well.Royi wrote:I put in a GM ticket asking this about switching to a Goblin and what happens to the Argent Tourney mounts etc (since Goblins do not have any Argent Tourney mounts)
