LK would win, if and only if he could suck the soul fragments out of the other Horcruxes... Otherwise it would be an eternal battle.

And Voldemort's body has a part of his soul, the part that was contained in the Horcrux which resurrected him. In some cases, he required something more for his physical body to possess the soul, like in CoS, but otherwise, his physical body does contain at least a fragment of his soul...

Since Voldemorts Powers are only against the living and Arthas is no longer alive, the Lich King has a great advantage here.

Maybe he couldn't kill Voldemort because of the Horcruxes, but then, Froustmourne will devour that little piece of soul that's been left in Voldemorts body, damning him to eternal agony.

But somehow, this thread reminden me of something...

I am very surprised by the answers in this thread. They have been helpful and thorough, and I had my brother read it thus thar. He said, and I quote, "Most of those petopia people have no idea what they're talking about..." so let's prove him wrong! could someone write a story on how this battle would go in their oppinion? then we can have a vote afterwards on who's story is most realistic. who's up for it?

"So, I see you were foolish enough to come here...", Arthas said, and grinned darkly. "A mistake."
"A mistake for you only, Arthas.", Voldemort said, and raised his wand.
"Come then! Frostmourne hungers!", Arthas said and charged. Arthas swiftly impaled Voldemort, and Frostmourne drained his soul. Voldemort's lifeless (and soulless) body dropped to the ground, and Arthas drew his sword out. "Moron.", he muttered, and walked back to his throne.

euhm

Voldemort would be a necromancer.

the infery attacking Harry and dumbledore at the end of the 6th book...

Voldemort isn't undead...so he's just a member of the cult of the damned. A powerful necromancer he would be but he would have to be in service of the LK to gain such power.

Voldemort wouldn't be able to kill the LK since first (as many people have stated the LK is undead) and second Voldemort is pathetic...he needs artefacts to grand him power. Horcruxes, the elder-wand....pathetic old racist againt a mighty ruler of the dead? LK would defo win.

I'm afraid in this instance, Arthas would win. Frostmourne would tear through his hide like a frozen sword through mostly human flesh, as the saying goes. The Lich King needed a minimum of 10 people to bring him down whilst Voldemort got slain by a teenager and himself, and in the event of the Lich King's death, one of his many underlings could probably ressurect him. In fact, I think the only reason this hasn't happened is due to Bolvar becoming the new Lich King.

But realistically, between Voldemort and Arthas, High Overlord Saurfang would win.
