I now know what it feels like to have a mount get away.

Hey guys,
I feel like a prize just got ripped right out from under me. I was doing my dailies on my main mage, Plua on Whisperwind, and for months I would fly the path of the Time Lost Proto Drake everytime my dailies sent me to Storm peaks, well this morning, I was flying just above frosthold, where the snowdrift plains are and my NPC Scan goes off, and I look down its the Time Lost Proto. I hit the little tiny avatar and start clicking but the drake is no where, I fly around all the paths around the alert spot but no luck. I Click off the avatar and ask if anyone has seen it, and someone says they saw it dead somewhere near where I was. I am heartbroken, that a mount I have been searching for months appears is killed right from underneath me. I would have been esstactic if I could have gotten one of the rarest mounts in the game, but NO! Its taken away. Its not fair. T.T *cries* Think Blizzard would give me the mount if I wrote a ticket explaining what happened? I think Wow glitched on me when my NPC Scan found it in the game.

If it makes you feel any better (and it probably doesn't) I believe NPC scan can go off if you encounter a corpse or a tamed pet. They both make entries in the cache, so it might have been lying there for 5 or so minutes before you arrived T_T. Still, it's just terrible luck.

Yeah, the corpse of a rare still has its ID Number, so NPCscan would still be set off. Like Ninepillars said, it could have been laying there dead for several minutes before you even logged in.

You could try to ticked Bliz, but I doubt they'll award you the mount, especially since they have the Shattering to deal with right now. They don't take responsibility for 3rd-party addons, which means they're not responsible if NPCscan messes up on you, and they could probably easily claim that you just logged in too late, so too bad.

But you'll get him eventually! Now that the Shattering is up, less people will be camping him I bet. Hopefully you can snag him now!
