Silithid Swarmer is an ANT, and I HAVE IT!

So we knew the silithid swarmers were getting turned into ants, and ants arent tamable, and the tamed swarmers where bugged. While, checked my stables, and mine was an Ant, called him out no problem!! It is classified as a silithid, bit looks really coolz!

Haha, I tamed one on my Troll hunter just to see, and sure enough she's got an ant now.

I tamed the swarmer to get the ant but my new ant wont stay out. Within seconds of calling the pet it dismisses itself. Anyone else have this issue?

I got mr ant on a few of my hunts not all cause I intended on getting a different silithid on one of the others...anyways you have to be beastmastery to have a silithid, maybe that's why it poofed on you?

Unfortunately I won't be able to see mine until whenever the servers come back up after EU maintenance (or coming home from work, which ever happens last!).
Oh well. Unique model and unique skin - bonus!

Hopefully they will add the other colour choices in the future.

Well, silithids have always tended to be rather large when tamed. I know that my Cyfaillid is pretty much the only pet of mine that actually grew upon being tamed. The 'brain bugs' were absolutely HUGE when they were first tamable on the Beta, as shown here.

Just found out something that further implies that the Ants should have, indeed, been tamable. Was heading through the Silithid areas to ZF to grab myself a black beetle and I Beast Lored one of the Ant silithids. Despite being marked as not tamable, these guys ARE beasts AND they have a Diet!

Methinks this will soon be fixed and we'll have ants for ALL!

Judging by the screenshots, I'm guessing these guys use the Beetle animations. :) This is indeed awesome, I can't wait to get on later today to check out my ants.

Though I won't be able to use him until I get the Beast Master talent, I was able to call him out quickly enough to grab a screenie before he gets dismissed instantly.

I encountered a ...bug...when I went to name mine, since I hadn't named him before. I could not name him. Luckily though I had some certificates of ownership, and that did the trick!
