I thought I'd take some screenshots to clarify his location for people:

Slaverjaw spawns in Tanaris, right near the Southmoon Ruins...[in the south xD]

When approaching the ruins from the North side, you'll want to look to the right.

There is a small group of rib bones forming a sort of cage with some rocks inside. This is where Slaverjaw spawns.

He does not exit this rib cage, just pats back and forth inside it.

Very good pics Veph :D

I originally found him the day the patch came out, by going to WowHead and looking at the image of him there XD There were little stone piles or something around his feet along with the bones, and this was the only place that had those little stone piles, so I camped him there.

It took...hrm...maybe an hour and a half for him to pop when I camped him to get Jiaphyon back, but obviously I don't know how long his timer was running for before I got there.

Grats to everyone who got their good hyena friend back....jowldogs are just not nearly as cool as blood-red hyenas :D

Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but when I tamed him he did some kind of head-butt or ramming attack that broke the tame and knocked me back. Not a big obstacle, just be sure to trap him a good distance away from you!

*nod* That's a good point to mention. I just tamed him last night on my 49 hunter and he did the same. I dropped a freezing trap, hit Tame, and he charged up and broke the channeling initially, but then he froze and I hit Tame a second time. No troubles.

I am so happy. I guess I miss understood what people were saying about a rare red Hyena in Tanaris. I kept thinking they were talking about the Blisterpaw Hyena for some reason. My brain wasn't working. So I just decided to run out to Tanaris and get my Madam back. And there she was. In fact, I walked past her. I guess Silverdragon didn't really have her in the info. And I hadn't added her to NPCscan. I hit my /tar macro and felt a little dumb to be standing about 10 yds from her. lol

YAY! This makes me feel better. I was sad when I opened my stable just to see that stupid Mastiff wearing her name.
