Now that Zul Gurub is no longer a raid instance it is a ghost area. Totally void of life whatsoever. Had a look today and noticed some remarkable differences. Some places had newly placed altars or huts. The Tiger Bss area was made smaller. Hakar's temple was also different.
While I was riding around I thought to myself: how cool would it be if Blizzard were to turn this into a troll city. Anyone know what the future plans for ZG will be?

Re: Zul Gurub: future plans
I'm hoping they do more. There's a quest chain that spans the two Stranglethorns but it kinda ends abruptly. As much as I would value new content over redoing old stuff, I'm kinda hoping for a level 85 raid or 5 man.
It seems odd to me, they took out the instance, but only replaced it with a few quests that are phased anyway. Kinda seems silly that they took out the raid, and disappointing too. They can't even put some random mobs or critters in the empty void.
As for what it looks like, yeah it's different from the raid, but it's the uninstanced version that has always been there on the other side of the raid portal. I was kinda amazed when I first saw it (Okay, I hillclimbed a little back in the day). The only thing that seemed off was Hakkar's temple (too small and unimpressive IMO), but I suppose that kind makes sense if Hakkar is canonically dead now.
Still, it seems like they left room to add to it, both quest and just landscape-wise, so I sincerely hope they do.
