Night and Day?

Unread post by Shade »

I've never noticed this until just now.

Is the game night/day following the in-game time now? It seems like everywhere I go tonight it is actually night time. O_o

I believe it's always done that.

*facepalm*

Maybe it's because I'm not usually in game this late, and if I am, I'm in a raid. I'm usually 7-930 server time so maybe I just never saw.

Yeah. The sun rises during the day and moves like the day and the music alters.

One thing that I didn't notice for months and months back in classic was that Silverpine village was occupied by humans during the day. Well, worgen in human form. I'd only ever been there at night due to the time zone difference between server time and local time, and as such I had the impression it was always full of grouchy worgens...

Mm hmm, real-time day to night has always been in game, it relies on the particular realm's main time. :)

I've found Outland and Northrend didn't have so much of a difference between night and day however.

I noticed this too! Even more interesting was that if you went there during the day on an Alliance toon, they'd all be friendly. At night as worgens, they'd tear you apart.

There are some very nice in-game sunsets if you pick the right location. Dunno about sunrises, I'm never up that early XD

AND NOW THE FORSAKEN BURNED IT. D:

I always liked to go to Pyrewood at night, it was so interesting. <3 But yes, on the topic of time, the game has done that since Classic. :)

Yeah its always done it.

The only gripe I have with nighttime is that it's still so damn bright. ever run through the area outside the entrance to RFD? THATS how night should be ingame.

While I can appreciate that it would be more realistic, I think it would be a headache to run around constantly in that sort of darkness. Sometimes players are on a realm that's opposite their own time, so imagine if you almost never saw WoW during the day. At least night still gives the feel of it being dark, but without it being too much that it becomes harder to see things and orient yourself.
