R.I.P Camp T
R.I.P Camp T
I thought Barrens while just as dark would be more upbeat. Rescue cows, slay alliance, kill overgrown weeds...
Until the Tauren Winnoa Pineforest sent me Into Camp Taurajo and I got to see full force the devistation of it. Earlier I had know Alliance had brutilaized the camp but I hadn't realized how badly. I had learned that they had attacked a camp full of mostly peaceful Tauren with a handful of guards. Ontop of that there where children. There were BABIES THERE! If you don't believe me they are in the small quest hub -in- the overgrowth.
But it didn't hit me full force until I had to do; Honoring the Dead that it struck me that Camp T is gone, it is never coming back. I actually broke down and cried nearly at the words of three of the dead cows. One fought with a simple skinning knife to try and defend those fleeing. Another, the tailoring and leatherworking supplier, even in death her lasts words and thoughts were of the children. The Skinning Trainer, who taught around a dozen of my toons to skin, lay as dead as his leather working trainer friend. And lastly the Flight Path Master. He and his Wyverns fought to the death to give them cover.
So yeah horde is evil- but Alliance? Alliance aren't as gold and shiny as they once were, as this all happened before Stonetalon. This could have even started the 'The Bomb' deal, in stonetalon.
Rest in Peace, citizens of Camp Taurajo. :(
I know it's just a game but Camp T was one of my favorite places even if least visited
Re: R.I.P Camp T
As someone who has played since day 1, losing the original old world is kind of bittersweet in general.

Er perhaps I should have rephrased it better; not that horde being evil or not was part of the equasion. There are Evil forces inside the horde. Corroption and vile people. The Horde does house some evils, such as Lady Sylvanas as while she is one of my favorite faction leaders, she tied in with Thrall and Cairne- she is evil. She is good to her people and for the horde; but she is evil. Garrosh is also evil; and Lorthremar.....Sukurachi wrote:Horde are NOT "evil".

he's an idiot. But Horde being evil or not really wasn't the point it was the fact Alliance went and blew up Camp T- yet they're still supposedly the good faction when they probably also killed.. baby tauren. And people still boast they're the 'good' faction because they have 'better quests'. This just proves why they have better quests; the evil deeds have already been done :/
Could always have it as a remember Camp T shirt, I remember seeing it on Jynx and wanting one. :(I have a 'Camp Taurajo' t-shirt that I got way back in the day. It kind of makes me sad to wear it now.

Also, how the Dwarves treat the land around them.
How humans treated the Orcs and Trolls.
How the Night Elves treated those who became the Blood Elves.
Both sides have their problems, but neither has the monopoly on "good" or "evil".
I believe that THAT is the entire point of the exercise.

Re: R.I.P Camp T
And hey, Ashenvale - Night Elves LOVE playing gokart with demos. Good times for all. Those laughing sisters sure had it coming. Nothing says good light slaughtering hapless dryads. I hate deer, too.
The point is this: Both sides have a lot of tragedy and gray thrown in. I find it interesting how the two relate to one another now that Thrall's stepped down. There's a lot of ugliness and brutality and at the same time, a good deal of cooperation. It's nice to see it becoming more complex than BLAR ORC SMASH or Stupid Freaking Night Elves and their Space Jesus neighbors along with those creepy Irradiated Midgets.
And as a person who played Horde entirely until a few months ago, I find Camp T tragic too. Tauren really have it rough this expansion.

You two act as if I Didn't know this already.
But one thing-
Yeah and I don't think I ever said that. Do you? I phrased what I thought wrong; but after I explained what I meant, I never said that, now did I?Both sides have their problems, but neither has the monopoly on "good" or "evil".

This was originally mostly a RIP thread for Camp T and some vent/raeg because lately I've been running across people of the 'hurdur Alliance is the best/Alliance are super good!' kind of people.
So if you both were trying to enlighten me... I guess congratulations for enlightening me to enlightenment that had already struck me before this..?

Some of us are replying because it's not fun to have 'see, Alliance stomps baby taurens, kicks puppies and drinks the last of the oj - From the CARTON!' post and not respond. Or because it is interesting to see examples we might've missed along the way. It's an interesting discussion, in my opinion because there's a lot of subtle tragedy on both sides. I don't have time to level alts really, so I tend to stick to one or two and it's interesting to see what /I/ miss.

Sorry, I don't see Sylvannas as "she is evil". That absolute statement just doesn't hold up 100%.Ryai wrote: Er perhaps I should have rephrased it better; not that horde being evil or not was part of the equasion. She is a far more complex character, and taking her entirely out of context and saying point-blank that "she is evil" is misunderstanding where she is coming from, and what has been done to her and her people.
And the reason I responded saying that horde are not evil was because of the bolded statement you made.
You cannot say "yeah i know Horde aren't evil" then continue with "Alliance [are] still supposedly the good faction".
Alliance are NOT "supposedly the good faction" unless you don't understand the fundamental issues involved.
The alliance races have done their fair share of evil deeds.

Sylvanas, has made that turn, much as Arthas did. She has different motives, but she's made that turn none the less.Sukurachi wrote:Sorry, I don't see Sylvannas as "she is evil".

Re: R.I.P Camp T
As a majorly Alliance player, I really liked Camp T despite not being able to sit there and admire the peacefulness of the town without being on a Hordie toon. That being said, Camp T isn't the only place lost to Horde, just like Auberdine or Southshore were not the only places lost to Alliance (by elementals, tidal waves, or otherwise.) In my opinion, we should compile a list to honor all the lost NPCs & and questing areas. I know I wanted to when I saw all the fleeing refugees from Auberdine who had died. :[
Florelline - Level 90 NE Guardian/Feral Druid - Greymane
Thiania - Level 90 Draenei Shadow/Holy Priest - Greymane
Trinia - Level 86 NE BM/Surv Hunter - Aman'thul
Walnut the Tyrant Devilsaur
Pearl the Ghostsaber
Itzal the Fel Windserpent
Melo the Albino Bat
Tikiniro the Warp Stalker
