Two birds with one stone

Unread post by Sasrei »

Well as everyone read I was doing deadmines all day today. After 46 runs I was ready to give up when who do I see but the albino!
I was so happy, then I quickly tamed then looked out of the corner of my eye and what did I see but the brilliant macaw as well!!!
I had my 4 pets already so I had to temporaly release my worm but now I have both of them! It was interesting cause I knew one of them was going to pop because the time before all it was was monstrous macaws and only one green one. I am so happy but glad to hit the sack!

Cant wait to think of name for these two. And wonder what I am going to do with 3 parrots lol.

Better pics of them to come in the morning, its too dark in SW now.

As you can see in the first photo is when I turned my head and saw the brilliant macaw and went EEEEEEEEEE lol

Glad your persistence paid off! Now you can enjoy Heroic Deadmines without constantly scanning the sky ;)
Oh, and your parrots are able to 'fly' - they aren't restricted to pathing along the ground.

I feel kinda guilty that I ventured into Deadmines once, and came out with an Albino Eyegouger

Don't worry I'm sure some other pet will elude you. It always seems to work that way.

@Akycha: I think I may deserve it, after having been given Arlokk's Grasp twice, but not once seeing Thekal's Grasp drop before ZG turned into a leveling zone that I probably couldn't stand playing in now. I wanted to be a demented Tigger so badly!

Wow that's pretty cool I never noticed that. I wonder if I vendored those. >.>

But yea ZG >.< I helped my mom farm that place ever for over a year never ever saw either of the mounts drop. :/ She's a big Tigger fan and really really wanted that mount.

Are the parrots hard to get? Or are they somewhat like rares in there?

The one that looks like a mini-wing and the albino are both rare spawns. I went in to get the albino before I knew the mini-wing was there as well. I ran that thing five times at least, and three of those? The mini-wing was there. So, I just thought she was part of the normal spawns. THEN, I read here about her, and get out my mini-wing and go DOH!

I go BACK into deadmines--and neither bird is up. For 7 runs. My final run of the night last night, I got the albino. I started to do a dance, then kicked myself instead for ignoring the mini-wing, and logged out just outside the mine, to go back in today.

I may need pet therapy.

You're preaching to the choir here. ;)

Congrats on both tames Sas!! :D If I could possibly justify it to Strap, my accidentally acquired and quite solidly and instantly bonded with bony bird, I would go get the brilliant macaw. Such a gorgeous birdie.

... I might need to make a night elf hunter with mostly-white pets. :?

Thanks guys! I was starting to get really sick of deadmines... for awhile there I thought Saon was the lucky one.

Now I get to figure out what I still need on Sas for raiding. Havent checked out my stables on her yet but eh ill make it work. I just wanted one.. lol. Yah but who could have turned down two beautiful birdies.

They are exactly "rare spawns" with you know the silver dragon around it. But it has only a small chance of being among the other skinned birds so yah its like a rare spawned skin, that takes the place of another regular skin bird.

Sara, i think you should make one hunter of every class, and then just to complete it make a gnome mage or lock who thinks she's a hunter

So do you basically clear the instance up to that point, then check out the birds in the room, if none of the birds are there get out and repeat?

Yup. I imagine you can bypass quite a bit of it at level 80, but yes, that's pretty much it.

Lucky swine, I'm nearing 60 runs myself (Been running chunk of Saturday, all day Sunday, all day yesterday) and seen nothing yet. Pain in the ass as my Hunter after them is only 44 so takes her a while to clear it too, augh.

Much gratz, it's slowly boring me to death so msuta been awful D:

Excellent. I got 2 of the mini wing look-a-likes, I was wondering if one could get one white and one blue. Now we know! Wonder how often 2 of the rarer ones show up at the same time?

Yeah basically just kill your way to the pirate room. The birds fly in that one area, then you can clear the front side of the boat and take the transporter back. It will take you to the mast room, so itll make it easier. For sure go that way way, just run back the way you came, it will ttake you much much longer if you go the other way and use the back door and run back to the instance.

I was actually in complete shock that both of them were up.. I also didnt know that could happen lol.

Good luck on your hunts guys, persistence really will pay off in the long run ^.^

But Baron has still denied me after 5 years :( Still no luck on either parrot here for Day 3 of my continious attempts. So damn bored I'm gonna need a book as I run at this rate.
