Will the sniffing kill worgen characters?
Will the sniffing kill worgen characters?
So we all know about the sniffing the Worgen have. It used to be when they talked. Now its when they move at all. I know worgen WERE a popular choice for people but how many of you think that that sniffing is too damn annoying to overlook and it will cause alot of people to not play one?

I don't think it will turn me off all that much - yes it can get annoying, but I'm used to playing without sound anyway, so I could just drop my headset for a while. :P I'm also expecting Blizz to fix it fairly soon. The way I've undestood, it's gotten better: a couple months ago on the Beta they would ALWAYS do it when you stop moving, I think it's not nearly as common now as it used to be.
Re: Will the sniffing kill worgen characters?
If I ever decide to roll a Female Worgen (Which I will), If they don't fix the sniffing there will be zero chance I will ever play with the sound on.
It's really that simple.

Same with me. I love the idea of playing one and if they do snort or sniff Im going to play without sound lol

to me it's part of what being a Worgen is about. I still think the females look wrong, maybe the hairdo they have is the wrong way to go about it. The males look fantastic, and their accents just make me chuckle.. Proper English like ;P (excuse the joke)

I .. think they fixed the fact that it's sniffing all the time, though I'm siding on the fact that only the hard core worgen fans (like myself) will probably roll one.
Post Cataclysm release, all of my toons are going to be Worgen.

Re: Will the sniffing kill worgen characters?
I will still end up rolling a worgen but due to the sniffing sound I won't be turning 3/4 of my toons into worgen like I planned to before, just one

I wouldn't be surprised if they either kill the sound or make it a very rare occurrence down the road. No other playable race has this kind of "feature". In any case, though, I'm sure we can figure out a "cat silencer" method to muzzle them.

Re: Will the sniffing kill worgen characters?
I agree that it was a bad idea to give a playable race a noisy idle animation. No other race has something like that and for good reason. Even people who start out liking it will end up being annoyed after a while. That's just what constant repetitive sounds do to you.
It would be better to make it an emote. You know, make a /smell emote and let the Worgen be the only ones to actually make a noise doing it, just like the Tauren are the only ones to actually moo when using /moo. That would be great, actually, because I do think that the sniffing fits them. But I really think players need to have control over it.
That said, I don't think it's bad enough to kill the Worgen. As has been said, you can play without sound and I'm also sure that soon someone will come up with a way to mute this sound specifically.

i voted Worgens are Worgens. To me the sounds is not a prob as i just turn it off if it bothers me. IF i deside to play a worgen, it all comes down to how they are designed graphically.

Small topic derail, but a cool FYI, Worgen will actually Howl when /howl is typed as opposed to saying "Dogman howls, so fearce"Mindsprocket wrote: It would be better to make it an emote.
