Advice on looking for Loque?

Unread post by Nikrosnil »

I'm currently hovering around the skyreach pillar, any advice on where I'm more likely to find Loque?

Wowhead & thottbot have his spawn locations.

My advice to you is don't camp him, instead whenever you log in, log out, or are bored take a swing or two around his spawn locations to see if hes up. If you try and camp it chances are you will get bored with it and just give up.

Also try to look at hours and days when not alot of people should be on. IE around 11 pm - 3 AM on weekdays. Never cound on it spawning within your reach on a weekend, and try to get on the moment you can, after server restarts/maintanence as I have seen people claim all rares can be up at that time.

Thats not true :\ Not all the rares will be up. I logged on right after maintence (Right on the spawn of the bear) and it wasn't there. I believe its a continuation of the timer before the server restarted. Might not be the same for all of them but as for the bear as far as I know he wasn't there before or after maintence :\

I mean all of the basin rares- not all rares in general. Sorry for not clarifying the information I was told.

I would suggest if you can to circle around late night on weekdays as mentioned before. I always figure they might have spawned during the busy hours and was likely killed around that time. That's why all my camping is late night. All three of my basin spawns have indeed spawned around early morning hours (Between 1am to 5am).

Also, since Loque has several spawn points, see if you have a friend or a guildie willing to help you circle around. I was in my guilds vent who kept my company while I circled for four hours.

Good luck and grats on the Aotona tame!

I got a few tips for you.

1. Try to camp when people are busy with other stuff. Events, new raids(Lich King) etc.
2. Camp in days no one goes on. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and noons are best days for camping.
3. Dont give up! Even if you find his corpse, dont give up. As you find his cropse, you will know he will spawn a few hours later and you can log in when he will respawn.

It worked for me with many rare beasts.

Good Luck

If you've tamed Aotona, be prepared to see another spawn at least 6 - 8 hours (a rough guess, but according to some times listed on Thott for UK folks, it seems pretty similar to Oceanic timers) after your tame. Most likely the next one to pop will be Loque. Or Krush. If it's Krush, at least 6 - 8 hours after him will most likely be Loque. The first time your character encounters a rare spawn, it tends to follow a set pattern first (one after the other) and then becomes a completely random thing. That's in my experience with several toons anyway.

There are 7 confirmed spawn sites. The high traffic areas vary between servers, but wherever the gorillas spawn seem to be a constant sighting area for most people here. I myself have had Loque spawn twice in that little area between the trees across the river from the Nessingwary Campsite.

Be prepared to spend a good long time in the Basin. If you are a miner or a herbalist, you can make a nice little fortune whilst you go looking for the elusive original lazerkitty. I searched during peak hours, made a decent amount of friends (and gold) during that time, and eventually found Loque. Do be warned - there are people in general who are only looking for you, just to kill the rare in front of you to be assholes for a lousy achievement. These people are on every server, sadly.

Good luck, dearheart! I hope P.Dawg shines luck down upon you =D

Loque, Krush, and Aotona do not share a spawn timer. No rares but the Time-Lost Proto Drake and Vyragosa do. Why do people keep perpetuating this silly rumor? They'll spawn 6-8 hours individually after they have been tamed or killed or the server's been reset.

That said, try not to think about looking for him. Fly around but focus on your herbs or ores, if you've got either of those professions, and sooner or later he'll be waiting for you.

Uhm, sorry? I didn't say they "shared" a spawn timer.
I said, they appear in a pattern. As in Aotona first, Loque second, Krush third. At least that has been the way it's been with me personally on several different toons...
