Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Something just actually occured to me.
I dont think Blizz would normally care about fixing this bug, but since the discovery aswell of pets with a DMG buff, this is what might be the trigger for Blizz to look into this and fix the buffs from tamed pets...

It's quite possible that you have bad latency if that's the case. Try spamming it from half-tame until the pet's gone and see if it works?
I'm not sure what else it could be
If half your "abandon" clicks just aren't going through, it might be quite hard. Keep trying imo!!
And yeah Rocheku, I really would prefer if people don't touch those pets at all. It could very well ruin it for the rest of us who just want something shiny to love!

currently drowning to test death results.
EDIT: Loses bottle upon death D: And I think the bear loses its aura/colour too, I may have just tested it wrong because I was mounted. /shrug

Is the bear's aura gone now? I'll update it if so. You could always kill one of the wild ones and see if it changes, or die with the pet out (or get pet killed).

Also--the armored fire boar, Bestial Wrathed, looks SICK!!

Thanks, awesome find!
Tamed me a Ghostpaw Alpha today, but I cant control his Growl, Cower or Bite on the petbar? Am I the only one who cant see those icons?

I'm not completely sure on the bear, I'm far from there now :p But heading back to that continent to grab my shiny Flamingo, afterwords I'll stop by again and do an accurate test.
Also- are there not any cats with cool effects
? I would love a sweet looking kitty :p

Littlepony--you'll need to manually drag them from the Spellbook. For some reason, along with being Aggressive by default, these mobs have no spells on the Pet Bar at first! (Edit--added that fact to the original post!)

Shiny pink Tallstrider in Barrens DOES NOT keep his shine after death.
Double confirmed the fire boar keeps his fire after death.

Darn, I wanted to run into a Heroic 25 LK run with a shiny pink flamingo and have people look at me like I'm nuts. D:

I just tested the purple Darkshore bear on Gamon and it definitely keeps the aura even after it/you dies.Acherontia wrote:Is the bear's aura gone now? I'll update it if so. You could always kill one of the wild ones and see if it changes, or die with the pet out (or get pet killed).

I'm gathering Wowhead links for each pet. Does anyone know the official name of the moth in Terokkar? Are there more than one? Thanks!
(Oh, and thanks for the test on the purple bear

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Forgive me if I've misunderstood the 6 or so threads on the "Effect Keeper Tame" topic, but if the effect is lost upon death (either player or pet), whats the point exactly? Pets die all the time, limiting use to sitting in Org. only. Why bother if thats all you get, it seems the "do not die" limitation would make the Pet itself pretty useless apart from a Stable Queen.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
The dogs that pick up the wolves in their mouths in WPL do not keep the wolf after tame.
It was a long shot but had to try
Warfish - I'm just using them as my "running around the city" pet. Would be nice to use in raids though.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Updated with Wowhead links. Thanks for the Vicious Teromoth link--was pretty sure that was the one, but I wasn't sure if it was the only one!!
Warfish, for me, the reason is that I've always loved Ghost Wolves. I don't care if mine can never leave the city--I made a hunter just to have one of these, and when I recently managed an accidental tame that I could not duplicate after the wolf died and turned white, I was pretty upset.
I figured, if I love this pet enough to tame it just to look at in a quiet corner of a city, that's good enough for me, and some people might like the same for a pet of their choosing
It's also nice just to have something cool for people to look at, and go "ooh what's that?!"!

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Maybe this has been explained before already, But why is it that some pet buffs persist trough death and some dont? What makes it so?

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Hmm doesn't seem to be working for me. Once I finish the tame and i've spammed the script to abandon the pet nothing happens. I can just go tame another one.
Any tips?
