Which one Wolf or Spirit Beast?

Well i was wondering since the shattering and the New method of getting cool pets, which kind would anyone want of a ghost wolf would you want it to be in the wolf family or spirit beast family? Because i have seen some posts about people getting mad because they gave us the ghost wolf just not in the Wolf family. I would like either they both have good sides about them.

I would prefer it to be a wolf. If it is somehow possible to tame those Ashenvale wolves and have the effect stick, I'll be getting one for sure. I'm definitely not taming Karoma, I already have three spirit beasts and plan on finding Ghostcrawler.

If I had to pick one, I'd say spirit beast, as I enjoy PvP now and then. But it's level 85, and exotic, which rules it out for awhile for everyone--and forever for non-BM players.

Personally would rather have it as a Wolf like the Grimtotem from days past. I have a host of Spirit Beasts already, and the new ones are all starting to look the same- Spectral Tiger styled. With the new PvP mounts, Celestial Steed, Arcturis and the new Ghostcrawler crab, etc etc, everything is starting to look the same! I understand why it would make sense to be a Spirit Beast, but would just like the ability to use this out of BM spec. With the current throng of new tamable pets such as Chromaggus, the demon dogs, and other awesome pets we never thought we'd be able to tame, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to have it as a regular breed of wolf. Just my two cents!

I was just thinking... isn't the Lone Hunter (in EPL) a transparent wolf that stays transparent after taming, and in wolf family?

EARGH, after a 2-minute long fight with a blood DK, I now remember how much I need Spirit Beast heals. Will be taming Karoma lol.

It's pretty much what Suicune said, it's be nice to tame a beast that looks special and can be used in the other specs and I don't really need another wolf spirit beast. I don't really know, I'm just not interested in taming Karoma.

Andine, you're right about Lone Hunter. I did tame him, I just don't like that worg model that much so I let him go again. I prefer the model used for the ghost wolves.

Certainly, a wolf. For both reasons: first, many people (myself included) dreamed of this WOLF for several years. It already has its image settled in the minds of many as a wolf and a pet that can be used in any spec. It feels wrong to switch them to another family now, even more so as no other families share models now (the owls were fixed right?)

Second, I really believe that spirit beasts, as a new and rare type of pet, deserve their own and not re-used models. Preferably solid as Loque.

That said, I'm definitely taming Karoma no matter what family she belongs to. In fact, she's the only Cata beast I'm planning to camp for day and night till I get it.

Oh. And one more reason that's just come to my mind. The wolf family, being one of the eldest, deserves a spiffy member. Look at cats: they got riding models, a gorgeous new lion and the jewel cats. Turtles got two unique and wonderful models. Warp stalkers got much-sought Gezz back. Even corehounds and silithids got something new and exciting. And wolves had one of the models snatched from them and made a dog. Basically, what is left are three old models in different colors. So they deserve the come-back of the spirit skin.

Personally, I think Spirit Beast should be an umbrella family, and each pet in it keeps it's proper species' ability, and get classed as Ferocity/Tenacity/Cunning to match.

Loque/Gondria - Both Cats, so they keep Roar of Courage
Skoll/Karoma - Furious Howl instead
Arcturis - Switches to Tenacity and gets Demoralizing Roar
Ghostcrawler - Switches to Tenacity and gets Pin

That way, the Spirit Beasts do legitimately become the singularly most diverse family.

I vote wolf. There's the risk of Blizz going "this is confusing to the retards we're tailoring the game for, we need to put them in the same family". Then goes my favourite pet. -.-

Personally though family doesnt really mean much to me, I like pets for thier looks not thier abilities, those are just added bonuses. Though I can understand why many people want Karoma to be a wolf. To be honest, they never should have removed the Grimtotem from being tamable. It's a mistake thats pretty much had the hunter community pissed at Blizz for quite sometime, though I do like how they have put the model back in game.

I will be taming Karoma for a more permanent and less fragile model, spirit beast or wolf, doesnt matter to me. I like the look of the pet more.

I would like to see both available. Have the ghostpaw effect stick, but make it the purple model. Then, add a ghostly haze to Karoma, something similar to Gondria.

I'm happy to get Karoma-but I've been a Beast Master since I started leveling-I would play MM for raids, but everything was done as a BM. With the updates-BM is actually a viable raiding spec even now! I'm in love with the spirit beasts, and their heal ability has gotten me much love in instances.

I'll be happy with Karoma. I got my little oily wolf and the Lone Hunter. I don't need any more fancy skinned wolves. That said-I also dont need any more spirit beasts, but will get the new wolf, and maybe the crab, none the less.

Somehow it seems to me that Karoma is some people's dream wolf and other people's "aah now that I have 25 slots, I might just grab another pretty skin whatever it is", but noone's dream spirit beast... That's sad. Convinces me even more that it should be a wolf...

I hope the new spirit beast wolf will get a model change in light of the recent ghost wolf (temp) pet.
