In the awesomeness that is the fox. i really did not like the models at all, but i broke down and tamed a red one ( I really do not like Ashtail's skin) and i have to say, they are great.
Has anyone noticed though when they "play" and you send them to attack or run, they are stuck in play mode? Hilarious
I'm glad I'm not alone here. I tamed one on the beta and loved it. I was genuinely surprised by the criticism it received. It's not all in the polygons, it's in the way it moves and behaves. It's endearing and feels a lot more alive than many more "wooden" pets with higher poly counts.

Well to be fair the model is still a bit rough; I mean the legs while better than alot of worg legs still squish and skew, the back breaks a bit when it runs. And the constant barkyipping when fed or attack can be annoying.
That said I still love them lol.
I do wish they would make Tallstrider's special as imba as Fox's special tho

I think everyone can agree with me that the worst pet model in the game are the old world cats. They still have messed up teeth
I don't like the bear gums, but that's a different topic. =P
I actually surprised myself by falling in love with my fox, Holly. I was running my man's dk through ramparts and forgot to bring my usual array of proper tankish pets so I whipped out my fox and used her as a pseudo-tank since she was my only pet with an aoe ability. I was in love. I love her little combat noises and animations.

I love my Foxfire. Was on a taming spree and didn't really need any more ferocity pets, but was in the area and picked him up to see his trick. Now, I'm hooked. If blizz would fix his leveling I'd be a much happier Elftroll.

One new dungeon = three new pet levels (at least at 77). Trust me: it's not broken in new world dungeons!
Back on-topic (I know. Gasp!) I haven't done much with my lovely silver fox, but while she hasn't glued herself to me like my Dai has, I'm really, really adoring her. The 'play' is hilariously fun when running from place to place in a dungeon, and the Tailspin ability is really quite nice. The tank loves it, for sure!
I know I was pretty skeptical of foxes at first because of all the hype they were getting, thought everyone would get one and they just wouldnt be all that cool. But Tiger, my red fox, surprised me with his amazingness, is now absolutely one of my three new favorite pets, and I love him to death. He'll be with Hearow to the end
