iLevels and Random Dungeon Restrictions

Unread post by Ollof »

Blizzard has once again implemented iLevel restrictions to prevent under geared people from obtaining access to the New Cataclysm random dungeons. This has been done to prevent people from “speed gearing” a fresh level Caped character.

That being said people are "getting around" the iLevel restriction.

Anyone that purchases gear with the correct iLevel with the intent of removing said gear once they are in the instance; is violating the “spirit” of the restriction and should be banned for exploiting a loop hole in the system. You are gaining access to things that; people who are following the rules; do not have access to. This is a clear violation of the TOS; thus a banable offense.

It does not matter that you have UBERgeared friends that will take your low DPSn arss into a Dungeon for JPs and Gear:

It does not matter that you got sent the US version of the game when you play on in the EU thus not being able to play since launch:

It does not matter that you are defending freedom and democracy around the world and just got back from a war zone:

It does not matter that this is your 10th level 85 toon and you don’t want to grind for gear AGAIN:

DO NOT EXPLOIT THE SYSTEM BY PUTTING ON GEAR THEN REMOVING IT ONCE YOU GET IN TO THE RANDOM GROUP.

Exploits are exploits amirite

HELP HELP I'M BEING REPRESSED!!

What sort of high iLevel items would you put on, then want to take off and replace with lower level ones? Are we talking warriors wearing high level cloth so they pass, then switch back into plate?

I think so. I don't think the game might see whether it's cloth or not.

The game can tell if you're wearing the correct type of armor. They've got those armor checks that give you a bonus for wearing all of the correct type. Hunters above level 45 or so get a bonus for wearing all mail, for example. If they could work that system into the iLevel check when queing for instances, then some of the cheating could be avoided.
