I can't test it atm--but I noticed that the ding/flash of light upon pet tame seems quite gone O.o

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
is it maybe because you're taming pets that are your level, and thus no 'ding' is needed?

Found another possible aura pet;

Am going to test to see if it's true since some people like auras and beetles so.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
has anyone tried this on a chasm stalker?
Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
So am I doing something boneheaded or is this not working? I am spamming the abandon macro like crazy but all it does is abandon the pet immediately upon taming. No sword in the lone hunter's head since the lone hunter is always gone when I am done taming.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
They may have fixed it, or you may be experiencing latency/not clicking the macro fast enough. Only way to find out is to get others to test it--I'd do it, but I've not got any spare slots atm >.<
Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Did anyone try on the new cata pets?
Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
I just did a bunch, they all worked, but it took me 50+ tries per pet.
I really only reccommend getting the ones that persist through death because at over a half hour per pet only to have it die - that just sucks.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
This method is still working. You just need to keep on trying until suddenly you can't tame anything but have an empty pet slot. You just keep on repeating the process until it's about to drive you crazy, and then one of your tames will unexpectedly 'take'.
So, while this is easier, that doesn't mean it's necessarily easy. Just keep at it.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
So basically there will be one time (out of who knows how many) that you pet doesn't actually get abandoned? well, at least there's a chance...

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
In a sense, yes. You're spamming the macro in hopes that eventually the macro will interfere with the taming process at a crucial step, prevent the pet cleanse, and despawn the pet before it gets abandoned.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
For me, a person with very low latency, it works the first time every time. If you're finding it frustrating and it isn't working, it may be down to your connection. It isn't a bad method in the slightest, but some people will find it easier--again, I'm assuming down to your 'net.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
I'm going to chime in and second that it might be lag and connection speed as well, for some people.
I've used this method on a number of pets now, trying it (and them) out, and have gotten all my pets on the very first try, except maybe one, where I was distracted and spammed my macro too early or too late.

A bit of palindromic wisdom:

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
The latency thing makes sense. I recently transferred to a server to play with friends and I used to have a 50-70 latency...now 250-275. I am wondering if I should just give up. It's very frustrating.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
True. My latency is fairly high, and framerate is low, so when I went to tame a Consumed Thistle Bear, I pretty much would up taming and abandoning most of the bears in that area before it worked. Apologies to any questers who were simply trying to kill the darn things as I was making them disappear one after anotherAcherontia wrote:For me, a person with very low latency, it works the first time every time. Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Attempted to tame a Consumed Thistle Bear for a good hour this evening to no avail, before giving up.
Either this has been fixed, my latency (85mms) is too bad, or I'm just unlucky.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
I'm about 90% certain this has been fixed. I've been working at pets for the last two hours, no luck. I'm using the same computer with the same latency and such for my successful tames, so I think they really did fix this.
