Black screen of death...anyway to fix?

Iv'e been the victum of the black screen of death multiple times, iv'e sent so mant tickets to GM's asking how to fix this, and iv'e been everything it says..yet I keep getting the blasted glitch I know it doesn't have to do with with my computar just specifically in game

how I know, this is what happens

How it appers: it happens in northrend and northrend only, mostly storm peaks, crystalsong,and wintergrasp. the reason why I call it the black screen of death is your screen flickers black for a few secounds before becoming completely black, you can still hear all of the sounds in the backround and then, your computar is forcefully reset, iv'e serached the net and i'm not the omnly one having these probelms and this happens in WoW and WoW only unfortantly anyone know how to fix this!? I'm tired of this happening

What I've heard is that updating your video card drivers will help. I can't say for sure though, since I play on a mac and we have an entirely different set of issues. But it's worth a shot, at least?

My black screen of death isnt that severe. Mine goes black, cnat see anything for 10 seconds then it comes back saying my comutor recovered from something

I'd say try looking on the WoW cata forums and seeing what the mods there say. If there is nothing posted on it, start a post. I haven't had that problem, but I'll look around and see what I can find.

This sounds like either a graphics card driver or hardware issue to me. I'd suggest updating the graphics card drivers if you haven't already done so, and then keeping an eye on the temperature of the graphics card. Overheating graphics cards can cause bad things like this.

What's already been said. Check the operational temperature of your graphics card, and update the drivers. I would also recommend you to clean out the computer. It might seem like a silly thing, but dust in the fans really lowers their efficiency, and ups the temperature quite severely. Also, could you check to see that the processor isn't overheating as well?

Thanks all! I just got to find out my hardware manufacturer, sense my mom thinks i'm just a little noob when it comes to compuitars and won't tell me even though she tried and couldn't figure it out..and now i'm getting the black screen of death on my new worgen. great.

If you have trouble identifying your graphics (assuming you're on windows of some kind) click start -> Control Panel and look fopr "Display" or "Display Settings".

One of the tabs there will tell you what hardware you have installed.

Click Start>Run, put "dxdiag" in the box (no quotes), then click the "Save all information" button and copy/paste the txt file here. We can at least help you figure out what drivers to try.
