Re: How to tame the Green Shale Spider
Is it still possible to die at the bottom of the tunnel, spirit fly into the cave, and rez at the top where the entrance of the tunnel is? I may have heard they fixed it but not sure.

I don't know about that, but if you have engineering and enough patience, you could do what I did and keep using Nitro Boosts every 3 minutes till it fails (and shoots you up in the air) and use disengage at the right time so that you fly back onto the ledge. It's very tricky, and of course involves aggroing a nearby worm, but if you want to sink the time into it, you're bound to succeed at it. It took me over two hours to get it to work right.Aiyannah wrote:Is it still possible to die at the bottom of the tunnel, spirit fly into the cave, and rez at the top where the entrance of the tunnel is? Re: How to tame the Green Shale Spider
I used a slightly different method in beta and live. That spot where they first bomb jump up to you can get to by running around through a tunnel to the right.
From there, a mounted jump to the dark green broken pillar (to the left of where they did the first bomb jump). And then a bomb jump off that pillar. Only not really a jump. I never had to jump. Just drop the bomb, take a step towards where you want to go, and wait. *shrug*
Without the daily, I haven't found a super ingenious way. I tried a few tricks, none of which cared to work for me.

Jadefang is up right now on Nesingwary....but I haven't unlocked the Therazane dailies yet, so I have absolutely no way to reach her. ;_;
Re: How to tame the Green Shale Spider
If you don't have the daily quest or are not a Night Elf who can wisp-fly in while dead, there is another option.... While flying in the cave on your mount, unplug your ethernet cable for about 5 seconds and plug it back in as you fly to her spawn spot.
That's how I got her!

Phew, after a full 6 hour camp (might have been longer, I lost track of time), Jadefang finally spawned for me tonight right before server resets and I have my adorable little shale hatchling. ^^ Definitely a new favourite minipet.

Huh? Every time I lose my connection with the interwebz WoW disconnects ASAP... I don't see how unplugging the ethernet cable for 5sec then plugging it back in will do anything other than either DCing you from the game as soon as the cable is out, OR letting you get to the ledge then DCing you and then you coming back and finding out that you log in at the spot where you disconnected the cable because that is where the server "saw" you last. But who knows...Mousie wrote:If you don't have the daily quest or are not a Night Elf who can wisp-fly in while dead, there is another option.... In related news... Day 6 of the quest NPC not being there for me. No clue if Ricket was there on launch day, because I wasn't.

I had to get a bit creative with my ethernet wiring to allow me to unplug/replug at the right time as I was flying across the zone boundary in the cave that would otherwise have dismounted me, but it worked a treat! It allowed me to get up onto the ledge on a day when the daily wasn't up and I had no competition for the camp. I found that if I unplugged for a full five seconds I would get completely disconnected, but at four seconds it was just enough to cover the distance back to the ledge before the game caught on again and dismounted me.

You may have to play around with how long you plug/unplug your cable for. You're pretty much trying to create a giant lag spike that allows you to fly in to the ledge without WoW thinking you're inside the cave. Try unplugging it for the shortest amount of time possible. Unplug where you just enter the cave and plug back in when you get to the round hole where the giant worm is.Pent wrote:Huh? Every time I lose my connection with the interwebz WoW disconnects ASAP... :p You may need another person to help you with the cord so you can focus on booking it in the cave as fast as you can.
