Not what we wanted to hear, but you get what you get.
I think that Griffley's guide should now be removed from Veph's sticky. A big thanks to Griffley and Acherontia for all their work (hunter trainers?).
So long, and thanks for all the fish

Cute doesn't need an explanation.

And yet STILL, ambiguity. Does the fix mean removing the buffs? Breaking the macro?Cialbi wrote:Well, a blue finally responded.

Because fixing the macro may have already been done based on my experiences today. I tamed a regular wasp, hit the macro, and boom he's gone forever. Tried it 5 times with 5 different pets.
Please, please just let it be fixing the macro.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
No, that went with 4.0.1.Tsaikogen wrote:We still have to level our weapons
No, we haven't had that for ages.we still have the "dead zone" crap
Yes, but only on ourselves - we can clear dots from our pets.we still lack an ability to remove DoTs
Use a weapon chain?and were still extremly vulnerable to dissarms.

goddammit... this post and link had me going round in circles!!!
The link is to the EU forum, to which I cannot post, since I'm registered as a US user.
It took me a while to figure that one out. It had my name at the top, my real name, instead of my character name, but it said there were no games registered to my account, so I couldn't post a response.
That was REALLY strange as I have 3 WoW accounts!
A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"
Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

No offense but this is why people need to keep their mouths shut about such things. Seriously. Hours of work will be ruined and a pet people completely love will be gone. Thanks for that.Natryndon -

Thanks for the report Acherontia. If this hasn't already been fixed, it soon will be.

Telling me to "keep my mouth shut" is both uncalled for and entirely your own opinion.
I would rather do it honestly and openly than keep it a secret--if I'd wanted to "keep my mouth shut," I would have a nice shiny pet forever, and you would have never even heard of it. Lucky for some, I'm not like that.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
And way to jump to conclusions and assume I meant you! I meant the reports to GM about it after the fact not that original method was shared. I have never once said to keep the whole process a "secret" or that you shouldn't post findings but just please don't spoil it for everyone else because of personal fears of being "banned" for taming a pet with an appearance buff. That's what I was meaning about keep quiet about it. So please do not assume that what I meant as that is rude.Acherontia wrote:Excuse me, but when I found out how to do this, the first thing I did was post here. Many people were concerned that it could be an exploit, so I posted asking if it was.

You were quoting my post on the EU thread which the GMs responded to. I'd hardly call that jumping to conclusions -.-zedxrgal wrote:And way to jump to conclusions and assume I meant you!

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Basically I look at this as (and this is a crude analogy) someone committing a minor crime, telling their friends about it, their friend does it then that friend goes to the cops and says "hey this is what we did, is it wrong."
That's the part that shouldn't have been spoke of. That's what I meant. Again please do not assume you knew what I had meant. Maybe just ask if you unsure????

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
And you quoted it. And it happens to be MY POST. How about looking at what you quoted before you start a fight next time? I am the one who posted on the official forums asking whether it was an exploit, and it is the blue reply to my post that you are referring to when you add "keep your mouth shut."zedxrgal wrote:Look ......................... I'm not going to fight or bicker with you. I was responding to the posts to Blizzard about whether it's exploiting or not and the resulting blue post.
Let me elaborate:

I'm quite sure of what you mean, and I am telling you, I would rather be up front and open than try to keep things a big secret, which might get people in trouble.Again please do not assume you knew what I had meant. Maybe just ask if you unsure????
Edit--in any case, the already-tamed pets are not removed--the taming method just doesn't work. So I don't know what you're on about claiming that it's going to "ruin hours of work," and saying "a pet people completely love will be gone." There's no need to start a fight or drama--the pets are still there.

Level weapons = pets.Anyia wrote:No, that went with 4.0.1.Tsaikogen wrote:We still have to level our weaponsNo, we haven't had that for ages.we still have the "dead zone" crapYes, but only on ourselves - we can clear dots from our pets.we still lack an ability to remove DoTsUse a weapon chain?and were still extremly vulnerable to dissarms.
Dead Zone = crap, plain and simple. This shouldn't exist and Survival should get some kind of offencive or defencive bonus for fighting at point blank range.
DoTs are not a problem on pets, this is strictly a PvP issue and chances are any DoT user that unloads on us IS going to kill us even after we've killed them.
Weapon Chains been debated. Wether or not were useing one were the only class with an "invulnerability" special that cannot use it if were dissarmed. If someone like a Pally is dissarmed they still have access to their bubble.

It's three levels. It's not that big a deal.Tsaikogen wrote:Level weapons = pets.
There is no range at which we can't do some sort of damage anymore. If you can't manage to stay at max melee range, then that's on you. I hardly ever find a boss is too close anymore.Tsaikogen wrote:Dead Zone = crap, plain and simple. We have interrupts and the ability to really lock another player down. Minimize their output and you won't die. I complain about DoTs myself, but I know that if I was better at locking down my opponent, I'd be able to live.

Mages can't iceblock while silenced, and pallies can't bubble. We're not the "only class" that can't become invulnerable at any given moment. Warriors can't shield wall while disarmed either.

Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Are both methods removed?
Tough luck to those who didn't get them, but with everyone here being "good citizens" you know they were going to take it away sooner or later...
Re: How To: Tame Pets With Appearance Buffs
Good question. The die-tame method is a LOT harder, so I don't know if they messed with that.Slickrock wrote: Are both methods removed?
