wow do I adore my shale spider... he's so CUTE

okay so I mainly run/do/am MM, I lvled bm to 80 before I tried it but when I did it clicked with me so well I hardly touched my BM spec... till I got this guy. now I got a crimson[PINK...c'mon it's pink] one first... and it was nice... I loved it's ability's wasn't sure on the looks. I wanted jadefang hardcore.. then I went down into the depths and saw a purple little something skittering about, I figured why not I like purple. I tamed him, and he's stuck with me ever since. I thought he would be a place holder but he just fits my hunter so well I'm keeping him. ended up calling him Tsuki, this little guy has squealed and squeaked his way right into my heart. now I'm staying bm for the longest time since I first dinged 80 ages ago. you guys ever find a pet that nearly made you change you main spec, or did ?

grats on your new friend, i had a purple shale spider on beta for a long time, dying to get my worgen up to 84 for a purple shale for my main, they're my favorite *u*

i've always been BM, since, well, I rolled a hunter for the pets so it fit. I just got myself a purple shale spider, at first I couldnt find them, until i realised that all the spiders running arount weren't critters but beasts lol. Also named the shale spider vanity pet from Jadefang since I am only lv 83. It was really easy to get. i look forward to taming him when i hit lv 85!
Not sure which I like more, the purple or the green.

i've never been one for this exotic beast stuff. none of them appealed, and honestly, when i found out shale spiders were tamable i didn't like the thought of being able to have an elemental as pet.

and indeed, i still believe that things like core hounds and chimera and devilsaurs don't belong as a hunter pet, there should be limitations.

so i was running around deepholm yesterday, having not long hit 83.

saw a full size shale spider.

ditched survival as my second spec to give bm a whirl on the sole basis that the shales were cuter in looks and sound in game than what they were in all the pics i'd seen prior to the expansions launch.

dammit, i love him.

I got me a purple one too What an awesome tank, what and awesome look, awesome sounds, he/she's awesome all over dammit

while it doesn't sway me to try any other exotics, i do really love my new shale spider.

just one problem...

I can't decide a name! And I NEVER have naming problems. Dammit.

oh god yha took me an hour to find a name, Tsuki mean's thrust but it refers to thrusting one's sword....

I love the purple ones, its what I have as well. I dont need or want Jadefang, as I think this color is so much better.

As to changing your spec because of a pet... I know that, in a way. I became a hunter because I saw Loque'nahak and had to have him.

How nice! I really like the orange ones, so that's the one I'll be going for... As for your question, I had pretty much left BM behind (it was my secondary spec even though I leveled BM and was only BM until about halfway through Naxx - I only specced it after a talent reset on my way to tame Gondria, whom I didn't click with at all) until I tamed Arcturis. I tamed Skoll before and thought he'd be my big BM draw, but it was Arcturis that did it. *hugs her bear*

I had the purple one, then I got Jadefang and let the purple one go so I could have room in my stable for Karoma. Looking for her as we speak! I have to agree though the Shale Spiders are awesome! I hate spiders in RL but this is one I can get behind!

I saw them pre-Cata and wasn't crazy about them (not big on non-organic pets) but they've really grown on me! I want to tame Jadefang and name him Ribbons. Doesn't seem like he'll be hard to get, just gotta sit and wait in his one spawnpoint.

I did what you did, Isaba X) I had a pink one but then wanted purple. (huggles Rocky). My shale spider tanked BWL so I could get Chrom so he's special to me that way. :3 I hate his screeching noises, though! x__x I don't use him as my tank but I do like to run around with him! so cute

Any news on the incomplete ability list for these cute creepy crawly critters?

I know they have a stripped-down BoK/MotW buff (no resistances), but when are they getting another ability? They're the only pet in the game with an exotic ability but no "special" ability.

I can't decide between the orange one and the purple.

I also really like Shale Spiders. Too bad that the one I like best is Jadefang, so I'll have to camp sooner or later even though I don't like that very much.
