Ghostcrawler Spawn Locations?

Unread post by Araela »

Hey everyone,

I have been looking for a map for Ghostcrawler's spawn locations and have been less than successful. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

As a side note, I got Jadefang and Sambas last night!

Thank you in advance for the help,

Araela

i found him at the northern area of the abandoned reef. i've seen screenshots of him being found pretty much along the west and the southern edge. i camped for him all last night. server reset at 8am, i log back on tonight at 8pm, i ride around the abandoned reef and npcscan pops at the northern part.

he does a lot of dmg. took me from 93k to 15k during the tame. hit me about 15 times.

Funny story, I was camping him stupidly early this morning running circuits around the Abandoned Reef. I was falling asleep when suddenly I saw a quick flash of a yellow dot on my mini-map... we all know how that feels, and I was instantly wide awake again. So I spent the next 10 minutes or so looking around and twice again caught fleeting glimpses of that elusive yellow dot on my map... hmmm it' was moving kind of fast that time... too fast. Then suddenly a Horde druid in aquatic form comes rushing up to me...

Thank you both-- do you happen to know his NPC ID number? I don't have him in my NPC scan yet and can't find it on Wowhead.

I found him (eight hours after I had seen him tamed) at 29, 77. Though, my NPC scan picked him up away from that area. As soon as I saw the flash and I heard the sounds, my heart jumped. I couldn't find him anywhere (meaning he had stealthed out) and was frantically trying to find him. I had even thought that some hunter was playing with me and pulled out their own Ghostcrawler (NPC scan seems to be a bit buggy about rare spawns now...). But, I found him wandering around at the co-ords above. :3 Good luck with your tame!

Sorry for partialling hijacking this thread but does anyone know if once spawned Ghostcrawler phases only in and out until tamed, or does he despawn after a set amount of time?

Thanks

I have managed to discover CG's exact spawn location. I had been camping him for ~12 hours and was sitting at my computer just as it happened. When my recurring macro pinged, I looked to my minimap and spotted him well within range. He was at a standstill for a few seconds, started to walk, and disappeared almost immediately.

Here is where he spawned; http://www.wowhead.com/maps?data=5146:158697.

There's a video on youtube that follows almost his entire route (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUx_uEmkuVU), in a 'clockwise' rotation around the Abandoned Reef. The start of the video seems to have found him in the same location as I, however my GC was patting in the opposite direction.

Based on all videos and information I have gathered regarding GC's path, I have plotted this single route; http://www.wowhead.com/maps?data=5146:158697. However there is evidence that he can patrol either clockwise or anti-clockwise.

There is very little useful information out there at the moment regarding GC's spawn locs and patrol route, so it is my sincere hope that this may assist you in your hunt. Please do not hesitate to correct me if you discover variations to my theory, I will edit accordingly.

GC does not despawn as people have reported following him along his entire route (too low level to tame or kill I assume), which is a recurring loop. He does phase in and out quite frequently however.

Thank you all so much for the information. I hope to get back to the hunt after I finish a graduate paper today. >.<

Ezmode- When I try to link to your custom map I get one plotted point and that's it - no route as far as I can tell. You may want to try taking a screen shot of your plotted route and crop the image so it is stationary and not customizable by others as that link is. I'm not sure if that will help or not but on my end I just get the one dot.

Question regarding coords-- which addons do you use? I used to have cartographer but I disabled it when Blizz put the new map system in and thus have not had coordinates.

Also, to anyone who has watched that video: Any idea what UI/addon that person is using that puts their minimap in the center like that? I would really like to know!

Thanks for this info, I can confirm the spawn point also, and my GC was moving anticlockwise too.

Thanks to this I too was able to tame him. It actually required no camping. I read this and decided to head out there and look around to see where he would be spawning because I didn't think I had a chance at catching him today.... seeing as how the Blizz gods had already given me Torrorpene and Sambas this morning. But sure enough my npcscan went off and my heart stopped. I quickly got to that spot on the map and BAM there he was. Thanks for the help!

I gave up last night after a long long search and headed to bed. Three hours of sleep later I forced myself to get up with my husband so I could try to get on a better schedule and keep looking. I logged on, did a quick sweep and no luck. Just as I got back to the beginning spawn point NPC scan went off. WOOOOOT! I got him!!!!!

I tamed Ghostcrawler today on Chamber of Aspects at approx 4.45pm UK time in Abandoned Reef. He does hit extremely hard and the trap doesn't work, but managed to tame him never the less...very happy!
