I will admit...an all black/all white option not being available did bum me, the smokey grey still has a natural beauty to it, IMHO. It's the color of my worgen. I find her very cute. :3 My hunter is a brownish color. But here's my druid:

My boyfriend LOVED the droopy-esque ears I gave her. He said it made her so adorable in a natural, beautiful, feral way.

Also another thing that does bug me....if you wanna change your humans hair color, you have to be in worgen form or you cant do anything and in worgen form, you cant see the hair color. ><;

I completely sympathize with the OP. If the leveling 80-85 wasn't just as awesome as it was, I would be done with this expansion. Worgen is a race I've dreamed of playing since... well since I first hit Darkshire back when WoW first launched. I planned to race-change and everything. I saw the Alpha model, and I was in love. It was definitely on it's way to feral and gorgeous.

Then beta came along.

I saw male worgen get an awesome feral revamp. "Wow!" I said outloud, excited. I couldn't WAIT to see female worgen.

And then about 2 months ago I did... And I died a little on the inside. But I quickly ignored it and thought "Oh the model's not done yet. I bet it'll look awesome soon enough."

Then the beta closed and no. It didn't fix it for me.

Now I'm not gonna be all /ragequit or anything but let me say right now (and this is my opinion.), Worgen female are not even up to their own races standards. I mean look at the Worgen male. Even if you hate it's animations, its face is AMAZING. It looks wolf-like and everything.

Females... not so much.

Their skull is a completely different shape. While the male is obviously more lupine in nature. Females, no. Their skull is very human-like, but with a domestic dog-like snout. The way their forehead bends and curves in proportion to their snout honestly reminds me of a chiuhauha (and I'm not trying to insult the Worgen female and/or chiuhauha's, it's just to me their skull formations are quite similar).

Their lower jaw seems to clip in too much into their upper jaw. They look as if they want to open their jaws, but can't due to having the very end of their jaw wired shut. Their snouts are also a bit too thin. But that ties into the skull issue above.

And finally, the eyes. While the worgen male has beastial eyes, the worgen female's look like giant *human* eyes. Now I don't mind the big eyelashes, and I can deal with the slight eyeshadow. What I can't deal with are the two giant human eyes (and yes, it looks very human compared to their male counterparts) sticking on the face of my worgen. My favorite part of the alpha model was it's stunning beautiful crisp-bright eye colors and eyes. They were stunning and gorgeous. But these new worgen females have eyes that all seem to be very similar colors with huge bloodshot looking eyes. The eyes are just so weird... I think the model would improve 600x if Blizzard just used the same idea/style they did with the male worgen on the female worgen.

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Worgen players should be uber offenderd or anything. I have issues even with the NE model and I play one. And I will still be playing a female worgen alt at some point. These are just my opinions on why I feel a bit upset (personally) at the fact that a race I had dreamed of playing for so long were dashed in the last few months of the beta's life. :(

While the worgen aren't perfect, and I complained as much as the next person before the expantion came out, I now absolutely adore mine. She's really grown on me, even the voice and the sniffing don't bother me as much as I thought it would.
I do wish I could get rid of the side-snarl, but honestly, I hardly ever look at her from the side.
I rep-grinded with SW like mad so she has a horse right away at level 20, and at the moment she's absolutely my favorite character.

There are some things I wish they would have changed (as I mentioned the snarl, the eyes could do with more color, and I would have preferred a proper mount), but I find them far preferable over the goblins both look- and rp-wise. I'm quite happy worgen are on the alliance side and goblins went horde, so I won't have to deal with any Horde quests while playing my new awesome worgen druid. :)

Yeah maybe I should try playing one and I'll think differently, but then again I love my hordies now. But heh the OP was mainly a newer dislike for the Alliance as a whole, its just I think my anti-worgen cause they look weird comment started a worgen discussion :)

It could be also because I always sympathized with the all the horde races (except I have a love-hate relationship with Garrosh), but I don't know, Humans have always bugged me, I hate human characters, maybe its because there so basic and popular, I tend to dislike popular things, which is why I favored the Gnomes for so long.

I always wished Gnomes would break and go into horde somehow, and I got a compromise I think with having Goblins available... they're soo adorable :)

You can have the gnomes, if we can have the Tauren. I personally can't stand the quests on the Horde side (especially Forsaken) but I adore the Tauren and I'd love to play one :p So we'll do a swapsies? :D

So I guess the black fur looks more black on the creation screen than in game.

Even more of a pain in the tookus is trying to change a feral's colored markings. My human hair color stayed the same, I couldn't see any change at all in worgen form, but I did manage to tweak the red markings I started off with to blue, for cat and bear.

The connection between worgen appearance, human appearance, and feral form seems oddly non-intuitive to me.

I finally made a female worgen, which was actually quite a surprise to me. I was going to transfer my orc warrior to the Alliance and make her human (again...I'd already faction-transferred her once from human to orc...sigh) so I could play with my friends and family. I had been messing around with worgen female options the night before just to see if there were any I could live with (I'm sorry, I still dislike the snarl and eyes, the body I can live with), and I did finally find one look I actually kind of *liked*. Then, I looked at the human version, and noticed it looked EXACTLY like the human warrior I had made (and regrettably deleted) so long ago. It was just such a strange coincidence that I had to go with it. So instead of transferring her over to a human, I transferred her over to a worgen, and I'm pretty happy with my choice.

I still would love it if they added some more options down the road as far as facial features, but for now, this will suffice. :) I do so love the mane down the back, though.

Guess she never was deleted afterall. XD She stuck with ya.

I hate the snarl, but am satisfied with the eyes. Overall, I like how Blizzard fixed them up. Sure, theres some tweaks here and there but none of the races are 100% perfect and the males usually got screwed over the most anyway(male tauren have no neck, male draenei lack a wrist and get a mustache when they dance, etc.)

I like how the female worgens look overall but ohhh man. Their laugh is just... it sounds TERRIBLE, imo. I agree with people who don't like their sneer or whatever you want to call it. I like all the color options a lot and ended up with the blue-ish grey coloring. As long as I don't have to hear my female worgen laugh I think she's pretty neat. :3

They laugh? Mine does the /chicken (also /flap) emote. Unless...did they fix that during today's maintenance?

I woulda preferred something like the ones on the right, as opposed to the left side, which is the current female. (Sloppy work with mismatched eyes etc, but enough to get the point across)

Image

It isn't the style that bothers me--it's the fact that the model itself is so bad, anatomically. The muzzle and head are shaped just... bizarrely. And although the ears are a matter of taste, it would have been nice to include one or two smaller earsets as well. I am a fan of the hair, though--I don't think the belf hair styles originally implemented matched in the slightest.

I think the job they did on goblins was pretty great. And worgen males, too. I love my worgen male--just despise the starting zone, which I think could have been done in a much more exciting & involving fashion. The goblin starter quests are great--and the goblin males are just awesome. They actually BLINK when they /flex :D I didn't think I'd like them as much as I do; I'm pleasantly surprised.

It's still a bit odd getting them in PuGs, though--sometimes I look at them askance for a moment, "what are YOU?" going through my mind

I hate the blood elf female laugh and cry. -_-

I've actually grown pretty attached to my worgen. There's still some anatomical fixes that would be nice if they got around to them (I'm looking at you perma-sneer, too human eyes, prego belly, and square butt), but I don't spend too much time zoomed into my hunter.

I gave her the real tall ears because they sort of look jackal-ish, and they look great from behind. I also love the fact that the female worgen stand up straight (I hate hunched toons) and I love the way they lope for their run. It surprised me how much I've ended up liking my worgen (especially if I don't stare at her face for too long) when I originally hated the model.

I still hate the voice and the sniffing sound, but they're all things I can live with.

I don't mind the new female worgen models actually, what can I say i'm a furry, a clean one, I can easily see that the model was made to be more dog like than wolf like, I don't mind that sure I hate the sniffing and the sounds they make when they get hit, but those are the minuses you still have to add the good points before you even judge them, this is only my opinion also. not all of blizzards races may be directed to one group of people, belive it or not there's a good majority of furries on the game, blizzards only trying to please different groups of people. and well yes a female wolf would have suited that but they probably wanted to make the female worgens dog like for a reason

Another example--again, it isn't the style that bothers me but rather the anatomy.

I think they can look beautiful & feminine, as well as "wild," without the goofy snout and screwy snarl :P

Looks GREAT, exactly what I had in mind. I mean, as-is they are tolerable, but it's just certain things that feel a little...off. The eyes and the "snarl" are the big ones. I know a lot of people liked the alpha models for the eyes and such, so I'm not sure why they didn't provide additional facial features as options rather than one facial feature with some different patterns. All I can figure is that they spent SO much time on re-writing 60 levels' worth of quests, re-doing zones, re-vamping classes, etc., that the new races took a little bit of a back seat in the development department. Not saying that they're failtastic, but to me personally, it just seems like they didn't quite get as much time spent on them as they maybe normally would have had it not been for all the other stuff crammed into this expansion. Just my personal opinion. I am still hoping (and will always hope) that someday, they'll add some more stuff under "face" so we can just change it in the barber shop. I, for one, would LOVE glowing eyes (or just less humanoid eyes) and a bigger snarl. I'm one of the weird ones that actually wants mine snarling all the time. One of those big, mean, toothy snarls that the males have. :D

Edit: One thing that does bother me though is the insane clipping. There's an extra hairstyle in the barber shop that I simply LOVE, but it gets completely lost in my left shoulderpad. Even the lower canines pierce through the upper lip while idle. I dunno, they just feel a bit rushed. I don't loathe them like I did before, but I do honestly wish they had taken just a bit more time with them. I know there were many great suggestions and comments all during beta and while I do think they tried, I still think they just could have used a couple months' more time. To be quite blunt, I wonder if the Activision half of Blizz wanted to get it out the door before xmas for sales, so they just did the best they could with the time they had and let it go. Just something I wonder from time to time.
