Madexx + Sambas tamed! (and sambas spawn timer?)

Aaaah I'm so happy!
I was skilling skinning on my druid, killing some mobs chilling. And I hit 350 skill and HS back to SW from outlands. And thinking "okay, lets go northrend!".. - Oh wait, just gonna check Madexx once before I go logout is fast here anyway..
AND HE'S THERE! My NPCscan doesnt go off cause I haven't added all the colours yet - but I see 1 red dot on my map and 1 only.
Btw, it's the north spot of Sahket Wastes, the one just northwest from the half-buried statue. Time here is 01.27 CET



Ihk, I'm so happy now! Got the brown one, the one I wanted the most - I feel kind of lucky!
Now I just need to come up with a name - any suggestions?

I can't believe it, after I got Madexx I decided to take some turns in Northrend to see if I could find some rares there - for other hunters in the guild and also Loque and Gondria which I don't have yet.
Anyway I ended up finding none of the rares in Northrend, so I decide to go to Twilight Highlands and look for Sambas. I started camping at 02.XX something, and at 04.20 CET I found him!
My friend had tamed him at 13.37 the same day, so when I started camping I felt that camping for 12h could be totally worth it. Anyway it seems like his spawn timer is atleast 14,5h+ if my math is correct

Even happier now haha! but need to come up with a name again!
Edit: Named Sambas 'Shiba', don't know why, don't know where it came from but I like it haha. And I named Madexx Exan

well, if my calculations are right, he should spawn again somewhere in like 14,5h?
that's what it took for him to respawn since my friend tamed him anyway - not sure if someone tamed or killed inbetween tho.

Haha I know that all too well. I asked my boyfriend for help naming Ghostcrawler. I thought since he emitts all hose little stars I want some kind of astral name to fit with Starcaller title. I explained all this very careful and show him the stars effect on the pet. And he goes: "Name it EdwardCullen"

Sambas spawn timer is exactly 24 hours. I tamed him at 6am sunday. Monday, i came back at 5am, he wasn't there, waited till 6 and what you know, he popped up. Same thing today (tuesday), he spawned at 6am.

I don't think any of them have exact spawn timers. But I saw Sambas dead ~25 hours prior to my tame.

I could be wrong.. But from my tames and from what I have seen and read...these new Cata rares have a min 6 hour and max 24 hour spawn timer. With an equal chance to spawn anywhere from 6-24 hours after they were last killed.

Sambas spawn timer is exactly 24 hours. I tamed him at 6am sunday. Monday, i came back at 5am, he wasn't there, waited till 6 and what you know, he popped up. Same thing today (tuesday), he spawned at 6am.

My Sambas spawned around 4:30 pm on Friday, and all the servers were restarted around 4:00 am that same morning.

It's not always 24 hours.

found Sambas again at approx 18.20 on my server - not sure if he spawned inbetween the timespan from where I tamed him to the time where we found him again.

I must just be lucky, even though I thought I wasn't for awhile as I spent hours camping . . . I just hit 85 yesterday on my hunter, and I decided I needed some awesome and amazing pets. I camped sambas and got him today, day 2 as a level 85. I was pleased and did LFR with a friend's hunter to get gear, got the polearm and bow and chest but considered myself lucky then after a few more hours picked up terrorpene and Madexx. I am super happy right now, all that in one day! Just thought I'd say thanks to everyone on all of the topics on this forum, there was lots of helpful info I was using to track these 3.

I believe that Sambas' timer is either 6 or 12 hours, but as with most of the Cata timers it commonly fluctuates 2-3 hours either way. He can be tamed and taken off with very quickly - the first time Ziarre saw him was as a blood elf finished taming, and if she'd been a few moments late she would never had known he'd spawned. The only 'default' Cata rare that I know of with a super-long timer is Madexx, who usually ranges from 10-15 hours...data gleaned from a solid three weeks of obsessive camping.
