Ghostcrawler Spawn Locations?

Figured I would toss my screenshots into the mix rather than make a whole new topic (while I sit here exhausted at 3am).

I decided against all logic to level my druid first, and, of course, ran into GC no less than five times (only the first two of which I bothered to even screenshot). So now here I sit on my freshly 85 hunter crying inside.

So now I'm wondering if he does have only one spawn point. And whether NPCscan will pop when he appears. And if I should just furiously swim around the zone.

Ghostcrawler probably spawns in another spot

After posting this original topic I sat in game on the aforementioned spawn point. At around 5:12 I left the spawn and started swimming in a strafing northern direction, I reached top north (where I originally found him the first time) and turned around to head back south when NPCscan popped. I dropped and tamed at 5:14am. This could account for the huge variations of his pathing between people sitting and watching him. When he started moving he was slowly shambling north, and was on the path I witnessed him take last week. This place was also very near to where I spotted him the second time (simply further down off the ridge)

Including a screencap a few moments after the tame. Incidentally a fellow Petopian buddy found and tamed Karoma at the exact same time. (take that as you will). I had Chrom out, Hysteria + Wrath + Dismiss + Tame. He took me down to around 65%.

Grats to all who have snared this beautiful creature. I found him last night around the middle of the southwest peninsula. I hadn't put his ID in NPC scan, as I figured it was such a small area to search anyway.
I was swimming around up and down the area when something sparkly caught my eye on the ocean floor. It looked to be about the size of a critter like a rabbit or something, and when I moused over it I realized it was Ghostcrawler!

The depth perception in that place messed me up because I was a lot farther off the ocean floor than I thought I was. That's why he looked so small, like a beautiful piece of clear blue glass.

Anyway, I tamed him and he's a keeper.

I've read and used these forums for info for a while but never ended up posting on the forums about my hunter adventures...mostly because I started my serious pet finding and camping only in May of this year (Loque and Skoll) and I figured by then there was tons of info I didn't need to add mine to the mix. But since this expansion has only been out for a week and a half I figured it might be good to add my experiences!

I started camping Ghostcrawler at about 10 pm EST Monday night; waited 4 hours at the first posted spawn point...nothing...got tired and finally went to bed. Servers reset for maintainence this morning but I have no idea when they came up, just that when i checked at 1:30 EST they were up and no GC. I started camping again, same spot and I would swim around the area once in a while. I waited for almost 7 hours straight....my vigilance paid off! He spawned at 8:20 pm server time on Drenden on Tuesday (Dec. 14th).

I'll edit this with pictures tomorrow and give co-ords...just gotta go back.

On another note:
During the day I was visited by a few other hunters...one of the nelf hunters was flagged and sat by me at the spawn point for about 5 minutes. I logged off and went to talk to him on my Draenei hunter (yes yes I have two hunters on the same server lol!). I was pretty sure he wasn't going to just leave and if GC popped I was going to have to fight him for it and probably lose (I hate pvp and I suck at it...hence normal realm). He left after a few minutes and re-appeared later...sat there for 5 minutes by me. I was so nervous I asked an ally hunter friend on real id if he knew him and if he'd steal GC or kill him if i got to tame him first. So my friend decided to come over to join us. 5 minutes pass and the nelf leaves...my friend arrives. We're chatting...GC spawns...I freak out, have a heart attack and tame him. Hearth to Org...5 minutes after that my friend tells me the nelf signed back on. I again have a heart attack at how close that was...my friend then informs me, yes, he would have stolen GC had he been there.

Seriously? What is up with that? I spend 13 hours camping this mob only to have someone come along with the intention to steal it from me if they can? I could kinda understand that happening on a PvP server or an RP server between factions...even then thats really mean and I would never do it. I just don't understand people like that!

I just got him after being bored hunting for Madexx because he was a skin i am interested in. Not really connecting with him now that i have him to be honest. Too tiny and a lot of the new crab model detail seems to be lost on his skin. Not sure if I want to keep him, and he is def out if i find madexx. As for where I found him, North and a little West in the abandoned reef.

This happened to me, but in a strange way.

So i was camping Ghostcrawler from 10am - 6pm yesterday and didnt get any visits at all by any hunters, a few people looking for ores but that was it. I was in BM spec with no pet summoned. I had NPCScan set and had tabbed out of WoW. Then suddenly a horde hunter (with greens and a level 82 pet at that) came and attacked me, in a panic i tabbed back in and started attacking him to remember i didnt have a pet out, so i summoned Skoll and started to fight him. He killed me due to me being surpised. Then i ressed and came back, he was still here, at this time i didnt bother to attack him but to instead run around the area looking for Ghostcrawler but he still attacked me so i again attacked him. The fight came as a stalemate with both of us dying. After i had respawned there was no one in the area anymore. I relogged to ask him why he was thier and why he killed me and his response was "i was their to kill you for my amusement and to steal GC from you" and then i had asked weither he got GC or not and he said yes. I was very angry and a few hours later i checked his armory which had updated with new gear and such so i figured his pets tab had been updated. I checked it and saw he had 1 spirit beast on him. It was Lorque, i was relieved but he lied to me? seems abit harsh to say he had gotten it when really he didnt.

Anyway thats my story :3 hoping GC is their after maintainence

That makes me so angry...He probably lied to you in hopes that you'd leave to come back in like 6 hours so he could sit there and get GC when he spawned before that. That's the only reason I can think of...aside from the obvious "I'm a complete @$$**** and like to piss people off for fun."

Thanks! next time i see him il make sure il have my pvp pet out when camping a rare spawn especially for him if i ever see him again. I left Vash'ir at 7pm (8pm server time) for Blackwing Descent and came back at 0:00 server time to still find no GC, but i logged out their in hopes that he will be there after maintainence let us hope!

Long time lurker, first time poster, but I had to register to confirm your suggestion of a second spawn location. I have been camping ghostcrawler for 3 days at the currently known spawn location near the southwest peninsula, but I actually was camping there and decided to swim around and gather the herbs in the area and spotted him at your exact first pic location.

From people I've talked to, it seems that those who discovered him at my spawn location noticed an anti-clockwise patrol route. Your information suggests that a second spawn location exists and that this spawn would dictate the clockwise route.

So our task is to identify the spawn loc for this route. In the words of an impatient pugger, gogogogogooo!

Got ripped out of it yesterday, 5:30pm EST, was in mid tame and another hunter, same faction started shooting it and it phased, vanished, whatever. He found it north of the spot (usual spawn point/patrol path listed here) and got it. That was a cheap move but I was like oh well, told him how rude he was but let it go.

BUT just now, 6:15am EST (azgalor, horde) i had been roaming the area about an hour hoping it was 12 hour spawn, and it pretty much was. Snagged him almost dead center, slightly west in another usual tame spot listed here! Now just the spirit wolf remains got all the other spirits as well as Terrorpene! YAY!

GL to all you fellow hunters hope these times and confirmed spawn counter helps!

Update: Later the same day yesterday, I was making a random flyover in Twilight and although NPCScan didn't go off (someone double check his ID, it was NOT cached) I just visually spotted him and luckily was able to grab him! It was about 2pm EST at the centermost southern spawn point on the maps provided in the thread for him here. Happy hunting!

I dinged 85 last night, checked on the other rares and none were up, but Ghostcrawler was!

I suggest getting the map that's in the other thread. But really, the area is small enough, and with his phase-out, you just need to path the area yourself for a while.

@_@ Just tamed a little north of Rainx's tame location--he spawned right in front of my toon as I was reading nearby. It was close to the eight hour mark after encountering a hunter in SW with a freshly tamed GC.

Just got him south of the east side of L'ghorek, he was patrolling around the edge of the wasteland kinda area everyone else has found him in. Was much smaller than I expected, pretty much normal crab size, was expecting something huge. Easily missable if you are just looking without tools (tracking/macros/add-ons etc) in my opinion.

Just got him 1 min ago. One of the best WoW moments of my life when he appeared.. I literally came in my pants when the Npcscan popped!

When i came too close to him he disappeared, i freaked out for a moment but kept looking since i knew he would do that.
He walked east when he disappeared.

Just Caught GhostCrawler at 20.71, He phased out when I first spotted him, so I just circled the area I saw him and he reappeared a few feet away.

Easy tame at 85 hit me for 66k only one more K than Terrorpene lol.
