Just rename "Abandon" to be "Release", like in the Pokemon games. Same thing, but sounds better.

If this thread means what I think it means, I'm still curious why are the mount-type beasts not tameable. I mean horses, stags (which aren't a mount anyway), hippogryphs, wyverns etc. The only mountable and tameable beasts are cats and wolves AFAIK. Please, give us ability to tame those.
And basilisks preferably. Another no-brainer.

I'm very happy with the new rare cat skins, I wasn't too set on taming a cat until I realized there were saber skins now. :O I died my way through Darnassus to get Duskstalker, and I died my way into the human starting area for a saber worg. :)

My wishlist though is:
1.) stags (they have quite a few skins compared to some families so bummer not being tameable)
2.) snakes (not the big cobras, the ones in Wailing Caverns that like to slither around the druids feet, those would be awesome.)
3.) Eyes of the Beast >.> would love to have back, just saying.
4.) Taming exotic beasts, can we get that at lvl 10? :D ...or at least put it back down to lvl 60? Im not unhappy about Intimidation at lvl 10, it's saved my butt more times than I can count but for your class defining skill, it's a bit...underwhelming?
5.) A way to make our pets sit, lay down, perch, ect. More for RP than anything, but it would be neat.

Oh and I'm all for hydras if that helps anyone else out :P

Thanks a lot for the hard works. With all the new skins I have been really busy on my hunter lately (and can only imagine more when cata hits.

My wishlist:
1. Clean up existing (and restrain future) pets that can't really be justifiable to be tamable by a hunter.
Example:
Warlock: Hey, after years of studies I have finally been able to summon a demon and made a pact with him!
Ice Mage: After years of learning to master the element of water, I can now call forth a minion from the water plane to aid me!
Death Knight: Cool, after getting killed and revived by the undead prince dude I now possess the unatural ability to create an undead servant!
*Hunter walks in*
*Hunter calls (beast-ish) demon*
*Hunter calls (beast-ish) elemental*
*Hunter calls (beast-ish) undead*
*Warlock, Ice Mage and Death Knight glared at Hunter*
Hunter: What? Oh, these? I found them on the way, gave them some catnips and they decided to come along!
*Warlock, Ice Mage and Death Knight quietly wept for all the time spent to master one form of pet.

You don't think a fantasy setting automatically means everything is possible, do you?
There are always limits on certain things that can be done and others that will simply break the lore. the worgen and the SB spirits(especially the ooze imho) are examples when devs think it 'went too far'. While these limits can be loosen slowly over time (given enough details on why it has changed, like the trolls becoming druids). All I hope is they don't overdo it.

2. Fox as Cunning (and possibly make Tallstrider' special more useful, I'll be fine for a single target slow if an AoE slow is too powerful for PvP reasons)

3. Beast Mastery as the signature skill will probably make a lot more sense than Intimidation, if warlocks can get a shiny new pet at lvl 10, why not hunters? If the extra pet talent points (which can be rearranged) or the second pet skill is too powerful for a low lvl, they can be learnt at a later lvl (Ancient Hysteria will probably be a problem though)

4. Keep up the good works ^^

I understand that peoples like to tame beasts that look incredible (that includes myself), but let's not get too greedy and start asking for pets that just won't sense >.<

Edited: For added clarity (Really sorry for the long post)

My wishlist:
1. I'm actually quite disapproving on undead mobs being tamable, the Diseased Hawk is probably the furthest this can be stretched, it is justifiable since the bird got its look from a 'disease' rather than being actually an undead. Therefore the undead wind serpent and raptors, if made tamable as suggested by some of the previous posts, may have stretched it too far.

2. For the same reasons, ghosts shouldn't really be made tamable, it just wouldn't make any sense. This should cover most of the transparent models. Some of them, however, may fit in the spirit beast family (if they can be considered a spirit , like the spirit hydra, and 'beasty' enough, so no ooze) which can preserve these skins as well as giving BM hunters non-rare spirit beasts.
].<
those wishlist are nerfs. Why do wish bad stuffs for hunters?

Doesn't make sense? I guess in a world of a bipedal humanoid cow that can fling lightning bolt from his finger, or holy blue arabic russian squidfaced alien bipedal space goats that can can healing powers from an origami, taming ghost like beast certainly doesn't make sense, like AT ALL.

Stretching too far??? And human turn into cockney-accented worgen while can still be mages and fling firebolt isn't?

If you don't like the idea of certain mobs to be tamed, then DON'T tame them. Problem solved. No one is forcing you to tame those beasts. Making them tamable is in no way hinders your game play or your RP at all.

Draenei do feel somewhat Russian, what with their religious orthodoxy and accents.

If we're talking about skeletals pets, maybe the skeletal raptor, like the ones in Wetlands? I know it might be a bit far, but no better raptor for undead hunter.

I am VERY glad that Rak'shiri has the new Skin and form. It is the ONLY way a Horde can get that skin. Not sure why anyone would want it to go back to the aqua blue version. If you want the aqua cat then just tame the non-rare quest Cat that spawns under the Ice Arch (Shy-Rotam.)

As far as what Id like to see....

More Devilsaur colours (Red, Blue, Purple and hmm maybe Pink..my daughter loves pink pets) and More Corehound colours (Black wolfish model, Red elem model, etc)

Make Clefthoofs and Kodos tameable in Rhino familiy

The Golden saddleless Riding Cat Model (Araga and/or Brokentooth are good candidates)

Smooth out some of the manes on Beasts like Wolves and Lions (very spikey..and yes I am horde and we love Spikes right? but...heh)

Update the skins on Cats to be more realistic (like the new catpeople in Uldum)

Make Armadillos, Mammoths and regular looking Snakes tameable.

K That is my 2 cents.

Thank you *bows

If we're talking about Mammoths, make wild Elekks tameable too, in the same family probably. People have been taming elephants IRL for almost as long as dogs, so I can't see a reason they're not tameable.

Maybe I've happened to had my Aqua-skinned Rak'Shiri for a very long time, and have a very strong connection with him. Consider that I especially do NOT want to abandon him b/c i would feel wrong doing so, and also consider that my Montie is NOT the same as a boring white tiger... See my point?

It's very aggravating that I have to let one of my best pets go, just to tame a NON-RARE, always up, easy to obtain pet, that is also 3 levels lower than I am, so I have to wait until bloody Christmas for my copy of Cata to be able to level him decently again, just to get my Montie back. sure it's the same skin, but he's a hella-lot different than he was before...

Now that the pets with special shiny effects have no way of keeping those, perhaps we can get those legitimately, so they keep the visual effects after taming?

I still want to tame a stag! They're beautiful, graceful creatures. I don't understand why they're not tamable.

I was ECSTATIC when I heard they were coming out with foxes. I love foxes a LOT. But why stop there? I'd love to see a badger or mongoose that's tamable. They're small, but VERY fierce!

One last wish. Unless it's been fixed and I'm unaware of it... can we please INCREASE the size of the lion pets? I loved my Sai (Humar the Pridelord) but even at level 70 (back in the day), he was still small. It looked odd. Personally, I think most of the cat pets should be increased in size a little.

Okay, I lied. One more wish. And I know this one is gonna fall on deaf ears as far as Blizzard is concerned... but can we please switch the usage of Pet and Companion please? You did it backwards. The little non-combat things are actually pets. Everyone can have pets. You don't have to "tame" pets cuz they aren't fierce battle creatures (well except tiny dogs that are ankle-biters... very fierce *giggle*). They're domesticated animals that need to be cared for and you can bring them in your house and snuggle them on your couch. A companion is a highly intelligent creature that CHOOSES to follow you and help you in your battle against the enemy. And while we're at it, maybe we could change the word "tame" to something else like "bond". I think it does more honor to the strength and intelligence of the animals. I dunno... maybe that's just my opinion.

This, just this, please. I love the flaming boar on Rosalyn. I was actually looking forward to getting it on a few other toons, because while I dislike boars for the moment and have had few click with me, having a novelty pet of an eternally burning ham roast sent me into a few giggles.

Or for some the visual effects sell the pet more: IE the ghostly blue bird. I didn't like it because well it's ghostly. But the blue mist effect they had was lovely and really made the bird feel well, ghostly, instead of just look see through in the right light.

there's also the fact that if they are implimented as tamable with the visual effects, it would put alot of hunters at ease about their stabled pets >>

Also.

Hydras.

For the love of god. HYDRAS. I have wanted an Orange Hydra since I first saw one in Azshara!

Gyreworms. Gyreworms, and Gyreworms.

Oh, and Gyreworms.

Did I mention Gyreworms?

My Draenei is a Goblin now, and what better pet for a Goblin than a living drill, to make all that gold-digging easier?

Will trade Kaja for Gyreworms. :C

Edit: Okay, one other request, out-of-character....I would LOVE the green and pink Dragonhawks from Zul'Aman to be made tameable. You hit on my favorite color combination with that one.

Let me give Runty a good home.

I know I'm not terribly fond of the 'Outland Chimera' look at all. I like the goat-horned heads and fangy mouths of the old chimera to the 'OMG XENOMORPH!' look of the Outland ones. ;) So if you're gonna add new skins, add it to them!
