Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
It is a Spirit Beast, however:
He might have caught a ghost wolf - it was available for a few weeks thanks to that method of catching pets with appearence buffs; or he might have caugth a Grimtotem Spirit Guide, which was tameable for the first few weeks of TBC if I remeber rightly. Both those beasts are Wolfs, not Spirit Beasts, and the first one loses his ghostly appearence with death.

and if it was a Ghost wolf he wont be using it much cause as soon as it dies it looses that look

Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
Unless it was the original ghost wolf. And then he's likely a good hunter.Dr. Rockso wrote:and if it was a Ghost wolf he wont be using it much cause as soon as it dies it looses that look

Dang... you mean I can't be a good hunter without the original ghost wolf?Slickrock wrote:Unless it was the original ghost wolf. And then he's likely a good hunter.Dr. Rockso wrote:and if it was a Ghost wolf he wont be using it much cause as soon as it dies it looses that look
I'll guess I'll roll a tank class then.

Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
I'd like to know why having the original ghost wolf makes him a good hunter. He could be a total huntard and still have it as far as I'm concerned.Slickrock wrote:Unless it was the original ghost wolf. Guessing he means because of how long the hunter's then been around. I'd hope after playing for so long you'd be a half-decent player, but some of the things I've seen...

Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
Can unfortunately confirm that a ghost wolf doesn't necessarily make a hunter "good" in any shape of form. I know a pvp champ who owns the old grimtotem wolf, and he's a very rude and childish individual.

Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
Karoma and Ghostcrawler are the first non-elite Spirit Beasts. So SV and MM can use them.

Didn't mean this either.erwil wrote:Can unfortunately confirm that a ghost wolf doesn't necessarily make a hunter "good" in any shape of form. I know a pvp champ who owns the old grimtotem wolf, and he's a very rude and childish individual.
But, you had to have your shit together in order to make that tame. Jerk or good guy is irrelevant.

Mean it wasn't seriously hard to stack haste. It never is hard to stack haste. Stacking haste doesn't make you a good hunter, Slickrock. All those hunters were, were lucky. Nothing more, nothing less. Because seriously going by that definition, the people who got Krush pre shattering are 'good hunters' while the rest of us are not as 'good hunters'...
All they had was the money to spend on drums, shaman and or patience to do it. It's no different than Rosalyn with her burning Roast. Roast doesn't make her a good hunter because she figured out the right time to finish the tame with/without haste >_>
Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
If you have at least 51-points in the BM talent tree, then you can tame elite beasts. SV and MM cannot tame elites. Since Karoma and Ghostcrawler are non-elites, then any hunter can tame them.Jin wrote:What?Jroaeyl wrote:Karoma and Ghostcrawler are the first non-elite Spirit Beasts. So SV and MM can use them.

Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
Eh I thought it depended on what family the beast belonged to...
Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
LOL. Then, tell me, why did my MM specced hunter have the ELITE serpent from Wailing Caverns? MM and Surv CANNOT tame ANY spirit beast, regardless of being elite or not.Jroaeyl wrote:If you have at least 51-points in the BM talent tree, then you can tame elite beasts. Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
It does, Spirit beasts are exotics, which is what gives them the BM-tame tag, not whether or not their elite...Jin wrote:Eh I thought it depended on what family the beast belonged to...

Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
Just respecced to marksman and tried to use Ghostcrawler and I can say for sure that that doesn't work.

Re: Karoma not a spirit beast?
KK, I stand corrected. lol. In other words, I've confused "elite" and "exotic." doh.

It's ok, it was a common mistake, especially with how similar those words are.Jroaeyl wrote:KK, I stand corrected. lol. In other words, I've confused "elite" and "exotic." doh.
